UKCPS ticket. URGENT help needed. Threatened with court.

'the letter from the Court'. You do know there won't actually be one, right?
You post as if it's part of the normal scam and it isn't. The normal scam is a letter-chain that fizzles out into nothing at all.
Those very, very few people who do get UKCPS trying a Court case usually win anyway with a proper defence, as in the case yesterday:
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=58542&st=220&start=220
You must NEVER ignore a properly filed Court claim, you'd be daft to ignore it when it can be defended. To ignore would be to allow the PPC to win by default, add on their expenses and then pursue you for the money if you still ignored a judgment. Almost unheard of as nobody's that daft and UKCPS don't win that often!
THIS (clicky) is the sort of company they really are. Taking money under false pretences by all accounts; money meant for an alleged 'charity'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

OK. Let me start by saying NEVER ignore anything you get directly from a Court.
But, if you were to, a Judgment would be made against you. This is what is meant by a judgment by default- because you ignored what the court sent you, i.e. "defaulted" on your need to respond.
This will have an effect on you personally. The Court will issue a document saying that you owe £X to the claimant. Now, the Court itself makes no attempt to collect the money; however, the person you owe the money to has a variety of ways to try and make you pay. These include sending a bailiff, trying to attach your earnings, or even trying to get your bank to hand over your cash. And these methods of enforcement cost money which is added to your bill- a bailiff warrant for example costs about £100!
And if the money isn't paid inside 28 days it is registered as a CCJ- County Court Judgment- which goes on your credit file and can stop you getting credit.
This is all true even if it is "only" a default judgment. So:
It's better not to let it happen- always respond to anything from a Court and defend any claim made against you..
And if it happens inadvertently (you never received the paperwork) apply immediately for it to be "set aside" (cancelled.)0 -
Thanks Coupon and GTFA,
I would certainly not consider ignoring court letters. I merely ask because I am trying to get as full a picture as I can.
I started posting a couple of days ago because I had got a ticket from UKCPS on Monday and I've been spending the past couple of evenings reading many posts trying to get a clear idea of how this whole process works.
I certainly have no desire to be paying £100 for parking in a free car park. It seems ridiculous beyond belief and reading the (many) posts is gradually giving me the confidence to suck it up and ignore it all.
No doubt, I will be starting a new thread in the next few weeks with my own letters...0 -
Yes, it IS ridiculous beyond belief to try and charge £100 for some minor or non-existent transgression, and now UKCPS have been told that by a judge.
So your chances of ever seeing a court form, which were always minuscule, are diminishing by the minute.. keep us informed!0 -

We don't need individual threads with letters on as they would just be old archived threads in a few days/weeks, since the forum is soooo busy helping people to just ignore this scam.
We already have one thread for that purpose, called 'PPC letters & threats' which is permanently near the top of this forum board. You can see which letters you will get next and you can send a pm to Crabman if you receive anything different. The thread stays near the top (currently second from top) of the forum so all newbies can see the preview pics every time.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The "this is your last chance to pay us before we file your details into the bin" letter?
It's an empty threat, ignore it. However in the unlikely event you do receive genuine court-papers then post back0 -
Ive just seent eh letter posted in the opening part of this topic:eek:
isnt there some sort of law against this, if anything its demanding money with menaces, threats and harrasment, and anyone who has fallen for such threats should be able to take action to get their money back, and posibly a bit more for being harrased and threatened. From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -

UKCPS, isn't this Hasbeen's company?
It's his latest trick to try and get people to pay up, he has taken some people to court although the court-dates hasn't happened yet0
