You really need to get help for all your anger/bitterness it isn't healthy and you might give yourself a heart attack.

There will always be those who play the system but lets hope you never lose your job and if you begrudge having a full time job that so many would love to have please quit so I can have your job.

I'm one of the most laid back people you will ever meet. I just love the debates on unemployement and the 'jobseekers'

I can find any unemployed person work, period!

Go on then see if you can find me a job.....then maybe you can set up in business and do what a4E and agencies fail at.

And when I say find me job I don't mean find me one to apply for or get an interview for, I have no problem with that I mean find me one I can start next week.

You're just a self righteous arrogant idiot who thinks anyone unemployed is stupid if they can't find a job in a week.

In my experience a lot of them are minimum wage or thereabouts. Plus say you are a well qualified professional and go for one, the employer will think (probably rightly) you are just applying as a stop gap.
As for the rest, the competition is horrendous. Not only that, the job doesn't always exist. In my last job, my voluntary sector employer restricted advertising to the job centre because they wanted to restrict applications. In fact they were just going through the motions, because the person they wanted to offer the job to was an ex employee already working in the office on a short term contract. ;)

I've known this happen a lot from both sides of the fence. It's so pointless having to go through the motions of advertising a job when you already have someone covering the role that is excellent and wants the permanent role. On the other hand I've applied for jobs I thought I was well qualified for only to be turned down for this very reason.

I am doing a job which I consider to be a 'stop gap'. I am overqualified and had give an excellent application and interview in order to get it. I think the requirements on job descriptions don't really bear much relation to the standard expected for applicants that will get as far as interview.

So no wonder that people become dispirited applying for jobs that, on paper, they are qualified for but in reality are not real vacancies or will be given to someone with more experience and qualifications that the job description requires.
