  • Well done Fred :j

I have been recording and watching biggest looser USA on Pick TV and OMG! A lot of those people were bigger than me when I started but oh how I wish it was that easy to drop pounds like they do each week! I wish I could spend 9 hrs a day in the gym with Gillian and Bob shouting at me then maybe I could loose this pesky stone I would love to loose. But some of the stories do make you stop and think.

Margaret - I think taking you own food and not sharing is a good idea, maybe you ought to recommend they change these meetings to a bring your own picnic not a bring and share to make it easier on people with food allergies or special diets etc.....
Also know what you mean about sugar addiction, I had curbed mine but I seem to have let it start to rule my life again and I need to get it back under control. I don't think going to america helped as they put sugar in everything

Lolly - hope you had a nice holiday

Beanie - hope you have got those tyres pumped up now :) I would of answered your question but Fred beat me to it :rotfl:

Jess - Exercise I have under control, (when I have to the time) it's my food that is a little wayward at the moment

Well I hope you all manage to get some inspiration out of the Olympic games despite the all ready major b*lls up we have made already with the flags :rotfl: I wonder what other countries we can insult in the few weeks ;)
I am starting to get really excited now as I am going to be a games maker at the Paralympics and it is less than a month away now. I just hope I can fit into my lovely uniform and don't look like a sack of spuds :rotfl:

Hope you all enjoying the sunshine and have a great weekend

I know what you mean. I've been watching 'the Biggest Loser' on PickTV and am amazed at what they eat when they go home to their families. One woman said that her husband ate all of the 'appetisers' which came before the meal - a huge dish of chips, what they call 'french fries', among other things. And burritos, whatever they are. I went to Florida for a week about 12 years ago and was told I 'ate like a sparrow'. You couldn't move for the takeaways, fast-food places, Taco Bell, you name it. In the USA there is corn syrup in absolutely everything, those burger buns, you name it! Yet they were saying yesterday that the President's wife has started a vegetable garden and they eat fresh veg and salads every day - a lot different from what most of the US population eat as a matter of course! The fast-food restaurants are just toooo available.

Thanks for all the congratulations for SoTW - I shouldn't have won it because I'm supposed to be maintaining while doing a metabolism reset but a stinking cold meant I had no appetite the day before weighting in so I'm sure it won't last.

I think the saddest thing on the Biggest Loser is that they think about half the people who went on there have put the weight back on:

    burritos, whatever they QUOTE]

It's a tortilla (wrap) filled with meat, onions and peppers - one of those with a portion of chips would be plenty for me, for the main course. If I ate that as an appetiser I'd have no appetite left!

Thanks for this. I had no idea what they were talking about! If the tortilla is made of flour that would be enough for me, with the meat, onions and peppers. I wouldn't want any chips! But it did illustrate just what some of the people ate and why they're the size that they are.
