I thought Sainsburys had dropped out of it?
Basically dont shop there, all these places can afford to pay NMW, they are hardly struggling corner shops. I think its absolutley outragous.0 -

They are shamelessly exploiting people and peddling the old corporate b-s that they are 'giving people the opportunity to gain experience'.
Where will it end... Will we all be paying the employer for allowing us to work for them next?0 -
It will end with more unemployed people who then have to be forced to work for free or benefits cut.0

whilst I welcome action that gets people off the dole(as I hae said before,I think 2 years+ folks should be the 1st to get attention)

My local hospital is looking for unpaid volunteers who speak eastern european languages to act as interpreters. The advertisements do not specify if this is to aid the workforce, patients or both.0

I wonder if this is just the start and eventually all the unemployed will have to work continually for nothing. Its already started in a lot of places that if someone leaves then they are not replaced due to cuts etc.
Its like we are going back more than a century, its really depressing.I honestly cant see the U.K getting out of this mess, in the next 5 years or so. Unemployment has always been a problem and I dont remember in my lifetime it being below 1 million, but I never recall it being like this!0 -

I recall an article* that claimed even in times of "full employment", there will always be around a million unemployed. A sobering thought.
* don't ask me to cite it as i no longer recall the source.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
