Hi there young_un, welcome aboard

Jox, I did manage to read one of my LOA books. It was the Hicks Book, Ask and It is Given. Another favourite is Jack Canfield, The Success Principles. I do have quite a few of these types of book and every now and then when I need a bit of inspiration I will dip into one and try to learn a little bit more about the subject.
Today, finds me without Princess and Munchkin, as they have broken up for half-term. They have gone to the Grandparents for the weekend, leaving Hubby and I to chill and relax
I have also left the Emerald City for the week and am looking forward to my trip to London. I can hardly believe how quickly it has come around
I do have a spending plan for whilst I am there. I have roughly costed everything and have put the money into separate little compartments and envelopes in my bag. I feel happier going, knowing that I have budgeted well for the trip :A
Today, I have been looking at the snowball calculator for the very first time and it has shown my debt free date should be November 2016. Now, that does seem some time away, but I realise I didn't get into this mess overnight and I most certainly will not get out of it any time soon. To be honest, I feel encouraged that I have a target date and not left myself floundering in the wind, so to speak.
I have also decided to log on to my Internet banking every working day, and transfer the odd pence in the current account into a separate one and when I reach ten pounds pay it off the first target debt :-). That might bring my DFD forward a little. Not a lot, I know, but it all helps.
Mum gave me a £20 voucher for the cinema, so whilst the kids are away, I think Hubby and I will venture out for a date, maybe we will even get to sit in the back row? Oooooo La la :rotfl:
Hope everyone is well and happy in diary land ?
Off to catch up on some diaries. Take Care everyone,

Hi everyone:D
It has been almost a month since my last post, boy time does fly, when you are having fun!
I have been on my trip to London and had a wonderful time celebrating with my sister her 30th birthday. We both enjoy our alone time together, to catch up and generally have a chin wag. She brought with her a couple of bottle of champagne, so we kicked off the weekend in style, quaffing Champers and eating Danishes on our train ride to London.
That evening we went to the Beaufort Bar in The Savoy Hotel and ordered a cocktail and nursed it all night whilst the jazz singer sang her heart out..... We didn't leave until 1am. It was a huge success and a night we will talk about for years to come. :T
The next day we went to Covent Garden and had our tarrot cards read by a gypsy lady. She told me I was going to come into some money  I have to admit, this did make me laugh
. All in all it was a fabulous weekend away with my sister Xx
Now that I'm back I need to concentrate really well on my finances. Hubby was discussing with me earlier that he would like to look into the option of an IVA, but truthfully, I'm not too sure about it. For me it would mean 5 years of payments, when both of our loans totaling £450 a month are due to end in the next 12/18 months respectively. In some ways it makes sense and in others it doesn't. I think I would like to see where we are placed this time next year and then take it from there.
Whew! Christmas! Not long now....... So far I have budgeted £500 for Christmas 2012. I have bought Princess 4 gifts and Munchkin x3.
Total spent £97/£500.
Let's see how I go with this
I have also decided to spend only £100 a week on groceries. I have made a meal plan and have costed each item on A$da website and then challenged myself to beat the price. The original price was £89 which seemed great, as it left some money spare for little extras throughout the week.
BUT........ Drumroll, pretty please :A I managed to buy everything on my list for £79 by going to the £ store and Mr T's everyday brand. I also picked up some 3 for £10 bargains on meat, so some meals for next week are sorted too....... yippee!!!!!!!!!!:T. I have put the extra £21 into a separate account until I need it! Let's see how long it lasts
Balances are looking ok, not great, but ok.
I need to have £1675 in my account for the bill coming out on the 1st of the month and checking my account I should have £1770 in
there by then........... So looking good, so far. I will need to keep an eye on this though!
Work at the Emerald City is a blast right now! I am so loving my time there. My Scarecrow is a comedian, he has the class in stitches. At the moment, if we have a spare 10 mins or so at the end of class, he is teaching us all the Thriller dance and playing the music on YouTube. It a great laugh
. We were discussing the possibility of us starting our own little Glee Club that the kids might enjoy. Life is Good!
Hope everyone else is well and you are busting the heck outta debt

London sounds fab, glad you had a good time! And Thriller in class too! What a blast!
Well done on the food budget, I really need to try and do something similar as it's still one area I could spend less on.:o

Hey there! I'm waving, frantically :-)
I'm seriously trying to get my head back in the game. I have purchased a diary starting on 24th December for £1.20 and I'm starting to get budgets in place. This make a huge change to the £105 Smythson diary I usually buy. Crazy, isn't it:-). I will learn....... I WILL!
I hope everyone has has a great couple of weeks x.
Things around the castle have been hard going. My sister has had some serious issues that have still got to be resolved. It has been hear wrenching to see what a mess she has made of her life. All I can do is support her. Xx. She means the world to me and is much younger, so looks to me for advice. This time I've had to tell her, it is her responsibility to sort out this dilemma. I'm here, but ultimately, she has to grow up. I has been dreadfully hard.
Hopefully in a few days I should have some uptodate totals..... Watch this space XxDebt total before IVA = £43,350.

Happy New Year, Everyone!! I hope I am finding you all well and happy?
Life in the castle has been quiet. My sister still has some issues to resolve and I'm struggling to move forward in every sense.
Yesterday, I sorted out my ball dresses :-) and glass slippers and condensed my wardrobe dramatically. I now have items for 5 work days and 2 weekend days. I'm hoping that by having everything ready and waiting will go along way to clear my head, I can just pretty much just grab and go :-)
After my sister owned up to how complicated her life is, I've vowed to make my life much more simple to allow myself the luxury of head space, and hence much more enjoyment :-)
My finance situation is pretty much the same..... Although thinking about it only a month has passed :-). Miracles don't happen over night Xx
I'm hoping that 2013 will point me in the right direction, both financially and dream wise. I find that I over think things way too much and therefore find myself spinning my wheels. This year, I'm just going to try a relax into things...... Not be so anal retentive about my life, because surprise, surprise........ It's not working!
I hope the next year and beyond is fabulous for each and every MSE'r. We all try so hard, we deserve a break now and again Xx
Bye for now,

I found some bananas that were turning at the back of the fridge. So, along with a 22p packet of Value sponge mix I made mini banana songs cakes :-)
Also, I froze some gammon that I made on Christmas Eve. Tonight, I paired it with a packet of cheese sauce and some value sweetcorn and spagetti.
Probably the cheapest meal we have had in a long time. But..... It was yummy Xx
I need to do this more often!
