An Enchanting Fairytale........ Part One.

I'm becoming acutely aware of talking the talk, but not walking the walk
This needs to STOP!
Today, I ventured into Town, tried on some clothes and spent £18 in M&S and £13 in Waterstones. Now, I didn't need to spend this money, but for some reason I did. I'm soooooooo bad at this saving/debt busting mission  I need to change my ways .
And whilst I'm confessing..............
We booked a weeks holiday in the Lake District. Half Price, I must add, but a holiday nonetheless. I feel that it's long over due and I'm hoping that all the extra hours I have worked running between the two schools will easily pay for this........... Once I get paid!
I promise, tomorrow I will do something towards saving money rather than spending it. It's got to be done! I knew when I started this journey it wouldn't be an overnight fix, but a slow and steady wins the race kinda thing......... Well I guess I'm crawling right now and I need to work up to a sprint

Hi Enchanted.
When I started 4 years ago, I was very strict, which does not work in the long haul. Like everything in life you have to have balance, otherwise you will not be succesful, so you need occassional treats

Thanks MF for not judging me :-) I'm much harder on myself than anyone ever could be.
Right, as promised Money Saving Ideas.
1). Signed up to Dooyoo. I did try this a little while back, but the kiddies were small and needed my attention (or at least that's how it seemed) and I could never seem to finish a review. Anyways, I've signed up again with the intention of earning Amz vouchers, ready for Christmas :-)
2). Signed up for Mystery Shopping. My new job hours means that I have a Wed and Fri pm off work. Hopefully I can fit MS into these hours. Although I have a huge amount to read up on, before I embark on this route.
3). I shop for my G'Ma every week, but it's usually in A$da. But she really only like it for there because of the sherry :-). So I will buy that in bulk once a month and do the rest of the weekly shop in Mr T when I do my own, that way I will gain extra points :-)
4). Exchange vouchers for School Uniform...... Will save a fortune.
5). Put one item a day on Amazon. That way I won't be overwhelmed by the amount of items I need to load.
6). Find a comparison site to sell my old Blackberry Storm.
Well that's it for now....... It's a start. I don't want to go all Gungho at this and then burn out, as I said slow and steady WILL win the race :-)
Princess is back at the castle and Munchkin will arrive tomorrow..... Looking forward to us all being back together again. The break was nice, but I love us all to be in the same place. Great time spent with Hubby, though X
I'm wondering about survey sites, are they worth the hassle of completing? I'm not too sure about what's involved with them.
Thanks for reading my ramblings. Hope you are all having a great day.

Hi Enchanted,
I have done quite a few survey sites. IMHO you spend a lot of time just to sometimes get a few pence. Some surveys you get a decent amount, but I just think they are far to time consuming.

That was my thinking :-) I think my time and effort my be better employed in other pursuits, plus I don't want to spend too much time at a computer, as it means I'm ignoring the kids and becoming exasperated trying to concentrate whilst they are up to making a mess elsewhere.....lol x
Might give the above list a good go and then if I find any extra time I might venture down that route :-)

Not a lot to report in the Kingdom of Enchantment.
Listed two items so far on Amazon.
Looked into the Mystery Shopping....... Jury is still out on this one x
And ...... Off for a BBQ tonight at a friends house. We already had some food in the freezer, so just defrosting that to take. Also a bottle of wine that I purchased with the M&S meal deal. So all in all not too expensive. I just hope the sun makes an appearance :-)
Have a lovely day everyone.

I could never get my head round the mystery shop thing, I also live a long way from town, so wasn't really worth it for me, felt the time was better spent listing on ebay or doing surveys in the comfort of my home.
Hope the sun comes out for the BBQ, have a good evening.0 -
well hi enchanted and pwps enjoy the bbq i agree on the mystery shop thing because i know i would end up buying other stuff so not the way to go for me .

Ok folks I'm back.
I feel like I've been very naughty and I need to jump back onto the wagon, especially with Christmas around the corner!
I'm fully ensconced in my new job role, at the new school. It's infinitely more enjoyable than my previous one. The staff are pleasant for a start :T Hopefully, it will lead me down a new Yellow Brick Road!
Debt is at an all time high at the moment, I think we may have tipped over the £40k Mark. I can forsee a few obstacles ahead of me..... A two day trip to London with my sister in the half-term holiday (it's her 30th), a couple of other birthdays and of course Christmas :-). It's all do-able, but I'm going to have to plan very, very carefully. Watch this space.
Hope everyone else is well and having a lovely day.
I'm going to have a little think about how I'm going to work things..... I'll be back
