Ha ha......... That made me snort my coffee through my nose :-). Kenco, not EDV :-) Something's, even I refuse to compromise on.

Admittedly, we have a dishwasher...... Hanging head in shame, so I don't use that much washing up liquid. But, Princess does...... She has a cleaning obsession at 6 yrs old. Might be an idea to buy EDV washing up liquid for her, she seems to go through half a bottle every couple of days or so. Last week I caught her fully clothed in the bathtub soaping down the bathroom tiles (confused?....... Yeah, me too). I just thought, she's happy and I get a cleanish bathroom :-) albeit, a soapy one x

PWPS, I bought the snack crisps and the sweet & sour sauce too! (and lots of the other stuff). Although I draw the line at Tea, coffee and cornflakes :-)

Right I have caught up with your diary whilst at my desk in work. Shhhhh don't tell anybody. I was waiting for my chemistry to finish anyway :rotfl:

Anyway, don't be too hard on yourself, you are doing well. You just need to keep going and don't give up. I have been debt busting for about 4 years. I have periods were I do well and then fall off the wagon again. It is all about willpower and discipline, traits which I don't have in abundance.

Oh by the way did you get anywhere with the kitchen gardening. I did grow veg a few years back but struggle to find the time now.

I do wonder sometimes what the victorians would think of us now; we have such an easy life compared to them.

I have a program on DVD that was on TV in the 80's I think. It is called 'The Victorian Kitchen Garden'; it is amazing. the things they grew; cucumbers in the middle of winter. It was truly awe inspiring.

    Anyway better go.

    Good Luck

  • Hi MF :D

Waiting for chemistry, eh? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh well at least my incessant ramblings have kept you entertained :p

I've managed to find my way back out of the deep, dark wood, escaping the lions and tigers and bears ...... Oh My :rotfl: I would love to say I have made a difference, but seeing as though I have never cut the grass before in my life :o. (lived here for 16 years and yes........ Hubby usually does it :T) I feel like I made a hacking job of it! The wildlife now have new, special places to reside...... I aim to please :A.

A couple of months ago, when my lightbulb was flickering :D I "You Tubed" ( that sounds weird to say) Frugal Cooking and "The Victorian Kitchen" came up. I watched it, as it reminded me of a school program called "The Way We Used To Live". It was quite informative and yes, I often have conversations with my G'Ma about how she managed to complete all her jobs with out our modern day conveniences. I find those conversations immensely satisfying as she is great at giving me the motivation I need to get home and get cracking :)

Well, Munchkin is out of the house and Princess has her friend round to play and I'm. .......... Well, I'm on here....... Think I'm obsessed :rotfl: I think I might chill for a bit and read my new Michael Connelly book, I can only read it before I eat something because it's quite gritty.

  • Just read that you have a dishwasher, i've been using the daisy dishwasher tabs recently (swapped from fairy/finish) and i've not noticed any difference, think they are about £3 for a box of 40.

Not much to report lately, everything is ticketyboo :-)

Thanks New Road Ahead for reporting the spam x. Shame I missed it :-)

Lots of great ideas for my shopping. I will have to look into the dishwasher tablets. The other day I paid £2 for 10! They didn't last the week and the sad fact is they were also half price..... Shocking.

I think I will have to look into batch cooking. I love to cook, but it's usually with lots of ingredients...... I really need to get back to basics, look at the old style forum a bit more :-). Elly68, the cake mixes sound like a great idea. I love cream cheese frosting, as my hips can attest to, so maybe I could slather the carrot cake with that :-)

Money Fritter......... "We all go a little mad sometimes". Or is that crazy? No matter, I'm a little of both X

Plans for the day ahead are a little strange today as I'm childless...... They are at their Grandparents for a couple of days........ Truthfully I'm at a loss. I have dreamt of a quiet castle for a couple of weeks now and now that I have one, I really don't know what to do?

Dare I venture into town? Can I resist the lure of bright, glittery, sparkly pretties? Hummmmmmmmmm, I'm not sure? Maybe I should keep away x. We'll see :-)

No matter what you are doing ...... Have a happy and pleasant day x
