Jobs are no longer for life (unfortunately.....or perhaps fortunately;) Ed).
You will have a wide range of skills that you will easily be able to apply and adapt in different industries. Employers look for willingness to learn, enthusiasm and work ethic EVERY SINGLE TIME - I promise you. Keep positive... you'll get there:)February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
MND - Let's go for 2020 'cos it's got a nice ring to it:D

I am sorry that you had a bad week.
We are all here to support you in whatever way we can.
January is never the best month - but I see that glimmer of positivity as you have applied for a job already!!!!! And you have Mrs E doing a wonderful job...
Take care and chin up.

Thanks all, I have been ploughing on with work this week, lots of reporting due, so just starting to wind down after that. Things have gone from bad to worse after a minor change to permissions in a website that I help to administer led to hundreds of people being blocked out  Feeling very guilty for the poor folk who are working overtime to resolve it, but also a bit conflicted, as I didn't do anything unusual or unwise before everything fell over.
I haven't heard back from the job I applied for, but it's early days yet and my application might have been a bit of a stretch. Finance is one of the few areas where I've no real experience, but I'm always open to a new challenge.
While I'm still feeling the January blues, I've been trying hard to manage my moods in a healthier way. The pre-2012 me would have had a bad day at work, gone home for a few drinks and takeaway and then sat moping on the computer. The new me got home in a rotten mood, went for a jog, didn't drink anything and sat watching comedy with Mrs E. Small changes like this make me feel like I have a bit more agency in my day-to-day life
Mrs E gets paid next Thursday, so nothing happing on the MFW front until then. I have been reasonably well behaved and still have over £100 left until then. An unwritten goal for 2013 is to keep some of my cash, 2012 always felt a bit close to the wire.
It's a balmy -1-2 here, hopefully the rest of the day goes in quickly

Well done, Ed. I have got my CV dusted down and really need to get a new job, but I'm just running round like a headless chicken and can't seem to find the time to look and apply properly. I need to get a plan. Please bully me into sorting it out! :eek:Debt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20

Get your sorting skills in gear, missy!
Well, the stockbroker didn't want to interview me, I suppose at least they bothered to come back to me at all
Another crazy day at work today, as we delivered our monthly reporting and sat through the ordeal of the performance board. Anyone who has ever been to a meeting that is organised by people who know their business, but monopolised by people who know sweet FA will appreciate the fun I had
Having a quick job search now, not finding much.0 -
Your meeting brings back memories of when I worked in the corporate world.....0
