  • Morning Everyone!

I'm back at work today, managed to get yesterday off. Still not any easier :( Found out there will be a post mortem for my Grandad on Friday, and then a meeting with a legal team next week.

Anyway, hugs and well wishes to all that need them, esp 3dogs, fudge and Bensonsmum

And fudge - I loved the Raggydolls!!! I now have the song going round in my head! Hope you get better soon though :)
  • it depends on the contract that is signed FK, where i work i have signed a contract to say we cannot bring our place of work into disrepute by talking about it posting comments or writing materials that put the place or any member of staff in a bad light. we are told we are an employee there before anything else and should act accordingly.

    I agree with that fully.

Picking up on your earlier comments though, Tesco's DTD policy is not a hidden perk, its printed in black and white behind the CS desk and staff would be entitled to it too, provided of course they didn't gain the DTD by using info they were privvy to as an employee.

2 things niggle me with the OP's case though...........mainly why her OH used a false name as he was (i assume) in the store she worked in and surely must have known that he'd be known.

Secondly, do they have evidence of her taking it back. Was the receipt a goldie and did the store she returned it to keep the receipt?

If they don't have any evidence of her being actually aware of his actions in any way then really its a matter for Tesco to take up with him imo and not her, after all this isn't a criminal matter, they simply don't like being stuffed by their own policies. They can't hold her responsible for someone else doing that provided she can't be shown to know about it.

    thanks for the replys

me and my partner havent been in the shop together for over a week, i was not seen looking at the phones with him.
im assuming some body recongized my partner and most of told him to go and get them. but i cant see how they can prove that i told him about the phones.
i do not change the sel as thats not my job.

but thanks for pointing that out, i will use that..

looking at previous posts you say that when you go for DTD you use your staff discount card!!!!!
Unfortunately this means that Tesco may have you on their radar as someone giving a DTD would see the staff discount on the receipt (
albeit I kow it was your husband who got this one)

  • Just a little bit of advice for those using Mission Control on SSM, Make sure you print you coupons as you go along as my account has been blocked and i can no longer view my vouchers/wins/coupons or any posts etc.
Luckily i had printed all mine but would hate for someone to loose there's just because someone decides to report them and they block their account too.
Waiting for them to get back to me with reason.

    Good morning :)

Ain't some people rude they ask a question get a full and detailed answer then still go on to question it

Plus they don't even thank the person for replying

And still no thanks in the follow up!
'bout blinkin' time. Tesco price checks have finally come in :j:j

Phew, I thought I'd lost out on 90p for a minute :rotfl:
Sorry if i came across condescending but your reasoning behind getting a JTD voucher really does not add up.

The pure reason the GIOL forum may be closed down is because people cannot do simple maths and you are proof of that.

By the way... I have made more than you can imagine through DTD and glitches etc, if you look at my previous posts you will notice that I have contributed many a time on here regarding these.

Just because it is possible to make decent money other ways I am always interested in the Tesco threads as 'every little helps' and I just wanted to know if there was any great reasoning behind getting a JTD voucher and unfortunately other than your summary nobody has come up with a 'money saving' reason, and I thought that was the idea of the site.

Simple maths - right, show me where I've gone wrong then? I have shown you how there was an item that was cheaper at Asda and how I had a MOC for Ts so I was able to avail of both by getting a JTD. The fact that the JTD is restricted to Ts doesn't concern me.

So explain how when Ts charge £6.48 for coffee and when As charge £4 yet after a JTD and CC points I have effectively paid £3.10 a jar. Am I missing the obvious - it's blinking money saving

Oh and I have nothing personal against GIOL but gambling is a risk, it is not pure money saving. You put up a stake and if you lose that's it (unless you're taking advantage of some offer or other). Here we are getting the best possible value for goods by combining MOCs and JTD.
Thanks for the reply.... I just wanted it confirmed in my head that other than you not having an Asda close to you and the fact you get club points there really is no other benefit of a JTD voucher.... just didn't want to miss a trick that was all.

    Ta,

But you're not getting it .... you have missed a trick! There were items available in Asda for less so by using a Ts specific MOC you could get the same cheap shopping in Ts AND get £5 off. Anyone else want to explain?

Here's another one for you then if you want it really simple ...........:

Ts FB page is giving you the chance to win a Cadbury Bubbly Bar. Now Ts are charging £1.42 (last time I checked) and As were only charging £1. So in baby steps:

    Win voucher from FB
Go to Ts and purchase said chocolate
Bill is £1.42, total to pay after voucher is £0.00
Submit details to PriceCheck and (fingers crossed) not only do you have a free bar of chocolate, you have made 42p as well.

Is that maths correct or would you like to complain that you have to now spend that 42p JTD in Ts?
  • Magicowen my thoughts are with you at this difficult time
    SPC~12 ot 124

In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind
  • Actually you are wrong. Very wrong. Out of 'uniform' you are just another customer and are entitled to the same compensation if you get overcharged. Tesco also can't hold you responsible for someone elses actions.

If they sack the OP I think she'd have pretty good grounds for unfair dismissal IMO.

    agree to disagree...

frankly, i dont think we have enough info to work with....

you are quite correct to point out that employees should be treated as customers and entitled to DTD -i do not remember reading about exclusion regarding employees or immediate family members re DTD.

However, it depends on the intent and history (these are among the things which would be considered or brought up in a tribunal/court tesco decides to pursue it)-

    INTENT:
    -providing fake name and postcode
-returning the phone to a shop 25 miles away

    HISTORY:
    - i think the OP has posted about previous DTDs..it depends on how many was done and whether these items were all returned.

unfair dismissal - not sure if you have good grounds for this correlation can be proven... i am happy to be corrected is someone know better.
