To the OP with the "special meeting on Friday" (I'm not even going to quote you or your name)

I'd suggest deleting your posts. You don't know who might be reading!! You can't do anything at the moment anyway :) Good luck :)

Very sound advice given yesterdays post by someone saying Ts have been told to check here.
  • Does anyone know if the options 4 for a £1 glich works on all variities or is it just the white chocolate ones please?

I think this and Lloydy84's story provide a salutary warning to those tearing the backside out of DTD, despite what some may think T's are not stupid!

  • agree to disagree...

frankly, i dont think we have enough info to work with....

you are quite correct to point out that employees should be treated as customers and entitled to DTD -i do not remember reading about exclusion regarding employees or immediate family members re DTD.

However, it depends on the intent and history (these are among the things which would be considered or brought up in a tribunal/court tesco decides to pursue it)-

    INTENT:
    -providing fake name and postcode
-returning the phone to a shop 25 miles away

    HISTORY:
    - i think the OP has posted about previous DTDs..it depends on how many was done and whether these items were all returned.

unfair dismissal - not sure if you have good grounds for this correlation can be proven... i am happy to be corrected is someone know better.

    I agree.

But how do tesco explain this...

THE Tesco executive who made a fortune selling shares before a massive profit warning has been moved from his role at the supermarket.

Bob Robbins made £200,000 days before Tesco warned on profits - and wiped £5billion from its share price.
A memo today revealed that Tesco has switched the exec out of his position as deputy chief exec of its empire.
He will now work in an undefined role for the overall boss Phillip Clarke - on a "number of initiatives".

    Why wasn't he sacked?
  • whats a goldie?:o

When you are overcharged, the CS person usually wrtites on it to show an overcharge and refund took place. A goldie is a receipt with no writing on it.

I also asked if the other store kept the receipt. They usually hand it back but do sometimes claim they need to keep it. If it was handed back then there is actually no reason why tesco should go looking around other stores to see if it was taken back ....and unless they got VERY lucky witht he CCTV footage, there would be no transaction trail to help them either.

    Morning Everyone!

I'm back at work today, managed to get yesterday off. Still not any easier :( Found out there will be a post mortem for my Grandad on Friday, and then a meeting with a legal team next week.

Anyway, hugs and well wishes to all that need them, esp 3dogs, fudge and Bensonsmum

And fudge - I loved the Raggydolls!!! I now have the song going round in my head! Hope you get better soon though :)

    Morning Magic, thoughts with you.

    thanks for the replys

me and my partner havent been in the shop together for over a week, i was not seen looking at the phones with him.
im assuming some body recongized my partner and most of told him to go and get them. but i cant see how they can prove that i told him about the phones.
i do not change the sel as thats not my job.

but thanks for pointing that out, i will use that..

Helen, i'd start looking for another job, don't mean to sound harsh, but the fact your O/H gave a fake name and ad is going to come across as a deliberate attempt at "insider DTD" and no amount of explaining is going to get away from that fact.

Made worse by driving 25 miles away to do the deed.
Back to square one, no apg, no comment.

For once, I find myself agreeing :o

No matter how clever we all think we are (myself included), it's a small world and it doesn't take long for news to travel especially if you are constantly targetting the same high value items all the time. Each of us is only one DTD (or refund) away from being taken off to the side for a wee chat without the pleasantries.

The repercussions for most of us is a store/chain ban. For a member of staff however it could not only be their current job but any future job as well.
  • Hi everyone.Hope you are well. Been absent for a few days so no chance of catch up. Hope I didn't miss any glitches. Managed to grab 30 packs of lindt balls and a pack of sarah smith wipes on monday!:D

Yes but this relies on the premise that people actually give a flying banana about getting store bans. I don't.....the only thing that surprises me is that I've not had one yet! :rotfl:

Its like a badge of honour...like an ASBO...."I have a Tesco store ban".... **said with nose flung in the air**

I only went and found the Ambre Solaire suncream white SEL £3.32 but scanned £12.21, 3 may have slipped into my trolly!! Bought lots more things with coupons to 'hide' the overcharge, result was shopping free and £3 in my pocket. Forget it compares with A so will have ruined the JTD with the other things I bought but can't be too greedy:p:p

So thanks to sorryaboutmy wife for the fab find:beer: it's factor50+ too so perfect for LO at my friend's wedding in Spain later in the year!
Cheers  - glad someone else got some - looks like it's national if you're lucky enough to find stock. I'd still shove it through the price check if I were you - £19.75 JTD is not to be sniffed at! I'm sure even if you did a big shop Tesco wouldn't have been £19.75 cheaper on the other items IYSWIM.
