  • thanks for the reply sorry had to take toddler to mother and baby group!

when my partner paid , he used cash and no clubcard.
there was no problems in giving dtd apart from wanting his name , address.
im not married to him, havent got the same surname.

when a refund is givin , they dont scan the recepit just the box of the product.

i dont do alot of dtd and i wouldnt use my clubcard and whenever my cardcard has been used they have never taken my card number..

i took the phones back with the receipt but it was no problems, money refunded. how would they know i took then back?. cash was refunded back, and the recepit was thrown in the bin.

so it must be that someone has mention that im his partner, but really couldnt it just be any bob, !!!!!! or harry of the street doing it.

how can they prove that i told him about the phones??

my mum lives where i took it back to, but i want say that! got another recepit in my bag to prove i was up there that day aswell.

p.s the toy that i got i have keep for my little one.

i think ill just deny all knowledge off it, and if they sack me with no proof i will take them to small claims court.

Morning all, just popping on quickly as I need to walk the dogs. I am way behind, can't seem to keep up with you lot! I finally succumbed to coupon collecting on SSM and have got to 40 with 1 left to go for People Person - is this the one that they are deciding on? Shame I left it so long and didn't get the vouchers - I should have just dived in but I'm always slow off the mark!

Had to laugh at your post above MMW - my DD1 is exactly the same, and even worse when I'm wombling - I am, apparently, the most embarrassing mother!

Just wanted to let you know that my Price Check came back in earlier (the one where I'd used my Clubcard but entered an alternative email address from an incognito window). I'm pleased to say that it did return to the alternative email address without copying to my registered address, so I'm very relieved!

I can womble away again without being paranoid!

Thanks for letting us know and happy wombling :)
Does anyone know if the options 4 for a £1 glich works on all variities or is it just the white chocolate ones please?

I bought 4 belgian chocolate & 4 caramel and only had 1 discount come off :( Maybe I should have bought 8 of the same kind or perhaps it's just my store.

Just a quickie for the lady having job troubles this morning.

I think as others have said, that it may have been your return of the item that caused the problems for you.
Despite the fact that I know t's operate some very underhand tactics, I don't think any cctv etc is involved.
I would suspect that someone who recognised your OH (and was perhaps a jobsworth), may have mentioned something to your manager. This in turn, may have led them to look into recent transactions and returns.
Remember, if you have used a debit card for any of these transactions (even though they are not allowed too), they will already have your bank details from paying your wages and could easily match these up.

I hope that for your sake it was a golden receipt, as this would confirm your lack of knowledge about what your OH did. Visiting the other store is irrelevant as I regularly visit 2 or 3 different stores. Although it may be an idea to do some normal shopping in the other store every now and again to avoid so much suspicion.

And lastly, if you really want to confirm an employees position re DTD and family receiving this, then I would either phone from a completely unrelated tel no or send an e-mail from a completely new e-mail address as a general enquiry (no names given) as to the position of friends and family of employees and employees themselves.

If you get an acceptable response to your e-mail, then this may be helpful if they decide to pursue matters further. However as others have said, if you have had a number of dtd's in the store where you work, then I'm afraid you may not have much working in your favour :(

First things first. Look for a copy of your contract and contact ACAS or your union immediately.

I myself am going through some employment problems right now and the Union have been invaluable to me.

Once you have had a chance to do these 2 things, then you will understand your position better.

Also I would immediately put in a written request for a short adjournment to fridays meeting, to allow you sufficient time to have representation, union or otherwise, present.
And also ask for a agenda for the meeting, so that you have more of an idea of what exactly they intend to say.

Then if at the meeting, things come to light that you need to discuss further with your rep. Agree in advance with your rep, that they will seek a further adjournment or time out from the meeting, for you too discuss matters that have come to light.

If you choose to attend your meeting on friday with no representation, then i'm afraid, they will probably wipe the floor with you :(.

Awwww I didn't realise you were keeping track FK. If it means so much to you would you like me to go back and thank all your posts? ;)

You're such a sweetie, but that really isn't necessary. :)

Possibly because he did not have official access to the financial information that was subsequently released to the market and caused the fall in share price? Does look suspicious though which is why some parts of the press picked up on it.

As part of the required training in my job I had to take courses on Insider Trading, use/abuse of privileged/commercially sensitive information etc. Although I don't now recall much of the detail I remember at the time it was a bit of an eyeopener as to what throw away comments in innocent conversations could lead to. Bit of a minefield I'm afraid

as the DCE, he would have access to the financial info, they probably need to be run through him before being passed onto Clarke.

he can claim that he have not seent he final year end figures/report,..but he woud have had weekly/forthnightly/monthly/quarterly figures and reports on his desk when the figures are in.

speaking as someone who had spent an entire year studying compliance and worked for a further 2 in a multinational company :)

btw: i wasnt in a compliance role for 2 years - i got rotated in mid office roles instead.

Some may have seen you as people (esp managers) do travel round the area (I used to be a rep for a card firm and visit T's to merchandise the cards) and would often bump into managers/staff from stores miles away

Sorry but in some cases they do e.g. when they're removing cc points.

I always assumed they did scan the receipt till I scrutinised a few transactions and realised that they don't....well if you didn't use a CC anyway.
  • does anyone remember a certain helen from dtd days? she/brother caused alot of upset with tesco as well and threatened to take them to the small claims court as well
