AN IMPORTANT NOTE TO THOSE WITH SSM BOOTS COUPONS
I used mine today on Herbal Essences 400ml bottles which are down to £1.74 (discounted by £1.75 each), now the £1 coupon came off fine off each (in seperate transactions) HOWEVER Boots didn't discount the product properly!
Now here's where it gets a bit complicated....
On the first receipt with many other offers on it, it discounted it only by 63p and on the receipt with just the HE bottle on it, it discounted it by £1.25.
At first I accepted the assistant's explanation (I had only noticed that the seperate one was wrong at this point) that because it was half price, I was only being given half the discount i.e. 50p off the £1.74 price of the bottle instead of £1. But while I was in the pharmacy queue I realised that they could go back to the manufacturer and ask for £1 when they'd only given me 50p (hadn't realised what had happened with the boots discount at this point).
I got one of the assistants to get the shop floor manager and we both worked it out (seperately) that I was owed £1.62, and she happily put it onto my advantage card in points which is fine by me.
Just check, it may only happen on the HE products but I doubt it somehow!
It seems to me that Boots have a real problem when discounts are combined like we saw with the vitamin glitch-it goes totally pear shaped!
Now if only they were cheaper and sold more stuff than health and beauty products...oh wait isn't that shop called something else...T...no I just can't think of the name of it!!!Learn from the past, enjoy and appreciate the present and work to make your future the best it can possibly be
And get lots of glitches!0 -

Lucky you, when the SA tried to scan more than one coupon for my 30 wash of Ariel it flashed up on her screen "product not purchased" when she tried the second coupon.0 -

I've posted a few times about the fact in my extra there seems to be a varying knowledge amongst SAs about what to do with price check vouchers. I seem to be slowly training the staff in my extra about what to do with them:rotfl: I always expain that they need to make sure I can't use the receipt again. Well, you've got to play by the rules to keep it going haven't you?
In one instance I was doing this with an SA who said they had worked there for 13 years and never seen one! The person behind me in the queue was quite amused and asked if I would be available to do some training on Monday morning?:rotfl:
I was shopping today using JTD,SSM and £5 off vouchers and had to explain the JTD voucher again to an SA. They weren't sure and called a supervisor who said to me that the problem was that they used to get loads of them through the tills but now it's uncommon so newer staff don't know. Wonder why that is, something to do with all those DTD ers on price check?;);)
Got a £55 something shop down to £1.45 with offers, vouchers etc. Thanks due to West Is Best(?) as OP(?) for the heads up on SSM:)Awaiting a new sig0 -
Hi everyone, just got back from my local Ts. Had a great shop and I am loving my new hobby. I managed to get a £52.45 shop for the grand sum of 39p. I should add that there was not a single whoopsy included.
Discounts were: £5 off £40 spend, £2 off £8 spend on household, Jtd £17.58, 22 £1 off vouchers and 1 50p moc. I also got 30 bonus cc points.
This is what I purchased:
2 x Fairy platinum 62 tablets (£6 each)
2 x Fairy washing up liquid 1200 mls (£2 each)
1 x Fairy platinum 900 mls (£2) - shows on the reciept as handwash????
2 x Fairy platinum 650 mls (2 for £3)
Domestos total 79p - had a voucher for 30 cc points for this
3 x Flash bathroom (£1 each)
3 x Flash with bleach (£1 each)
4 x Oral B complete (£1.24 each)
2 x Oral B Pro Expert Enamel shield (£3.50) BOGOF
1 x Ariel liquitabs 33 - £6
3 x Always Freshelle normal plus with wings 10s (£1.04 each) - could not find the £1.20 BOGOF ones.
1 x Green Giant sweetcorn x4 tins (because I had a 50p off voucher).
I was so chuffed when I saw the final total, in fact I'm still smiling away to myself.
Hope the above is of interest to anyone planning their MOC shop.Avatar courtesey of HC :beer:0 -
