Yes I did use my cc and no she didn't write on the receipt. I think it is safer not to try thanks everyone.

Best for everyone that the system is not abused. Is a few quid(or whatever) short term gain better than a longer term stream of gains. The price check will probably end at some stage but let's not hasten it by re-using vouchers:)

Thank you kind Sir, glad there was only the one token ice cube as I don't like too much ice! I'll fish out the umbrella, and if there's a next time can I have a dash of Pepsi Max please rather than coke, not that I'm ungrateful or anything!

Agree with this! not worth it.

I do wonder when it will to end. No one knows about it anymore really. No promotion, so they could end it whenever they like. That makes me think that all the money invested in the back-end stuff of IT systems etc.. for it was expensive. Comparing thousands of products daily. Too expensive to just end it?

So does that mean that you have had the same price check come back to two different email addresses? even though you obviously only put in one email address. Or did i read that wrong :o

Sorry I might not have made that clear. I have a main personal email address. I have several others for various purposes. You can set any email address to automatically forward a copy of mail received to another email address. This is what I do with some of my email accounts so that I don't have to log in and check each account. So all of my Tesco price check accounts forward the emails to the one I use on a daily basis HTH:)

    Evening all,

I am way behind - I've taken a look in from time to time over the last few days but not sure if I'm going to be able to catch up now :o

I just wanted to share something with you all... A few days back I input loads of my own old receipts into the Price Check - I wasn't expecting them to amount to much as most of what I buy is on offer or reduced but I wanted to find out which of my regular items price-checked. I decided to input half under my usual email address and half using a second email (there were quite a lot :o)

A couple of them came back with small amounts, under £1, but I noticed that they all came back into the email address which is registered with Tesco

I also re-input an older receipt, not realising that I had done it before, and it shot off a duplicate email to my inbox with the result....

Then, today, I checked out my wombled receipts - one of them hadn't come back, so I put the details in again, and it said it was 'processing' it....

Cogs started turning in my brain  and suddenly the penny dropped  .... I reckon the reason those wombled receipts sometimes don't return for us is that the CC holder has already registered their email address with Tesco :eek::eek:

So when we input their receipts, the result of the price check goes to their registered email address :eek::eek:

And when we keep inputting it because we didn't get a result on it, they will keep firing emails to the cardholder :eek::eek:

So, fellow womblers, my approach now will be to exercise caution when using the Price Check where a ClubCard has been used. If possible, check on MySupermarket to see if it's likely to produce anything before inputting (I've tried and most things can be identified with the description and price) and definitely only input it once because if a CC holder suddenly starts getting duplicate emails from Tesco then they may question why and who knows where that might lead....

If someone already figured this out then my apologies but I haven't seen anything mentioned about it so wanted to warn everyone as I'd hate for anyone to get into trouble...

    HTH

As a man with a yellow porch once said.......its a lemon entry dear watson! Well deduced. :T

Just to say Bensonsmum (and all the others with poorly loved ones) I am thinking of you and your family, so glad that you can talk on here and that it helps you. I've said before I wish I could chatter away more but I find it difficult, but when I have people have always shown support.

My grandad lost his battle last night and I am totally heartbroken, it makes it so much harder as there have been so many mess ups at the hospital and he shouldn't have left us :(

It's so easy to feel so alone when going through such things, but everyone on this thread is so kind and always here to listen, so if it helps then ramble away.
    Big {{{{Hugs}}}} to you

Sorry to hear, I hope given a little time, the pain will ease and you can look back and only remeber the fond memories.

    chin up....:grouphug:
