  • afternoon piq :) finally got round to posting! I've just flicked through your diary although will have a proper read later (with a few cups of tea i think lol) I was reading about your horse and it reminded me of my 9th birthday i got a pony, but my dad refused to pay for lessons. Instead he took me to a local field stuck me on the back (bare back) and slapped it's bum. I fell off and never wanted to get back on a horse/ pony again, but recently i've been thinking i wish i had the money to have a go again :)

anyway will have a proper catch up when kids aren't being loud and i can concentrate!

Hello Piq, I have just found your blog :). Very nicely written and I have subscribed - you have seven followers already!

Sorry that man pet and the Captain have been a bit naughty recently. Hope you don't get a carrot-related bill :D.

Moles taste nasty too. We get lots of dead moles delivered, always perfectly intact. They look like they've passed away through old age, but I suspect not or they wouldn't be on my doorstep! You'd think they'd be really hard to catch, what with living underground, but apparently not!

Eight now if I have been successful!

The outing went well, he sang all the way there and all the way back. He also sang to a captive audience at the petrol station. The light came on the dashboard, I did explain to him that he'd be stuck in the car even longer if I didn't put some petrol in.... I'm convinced that the other patrons of the service station thought I had an opera singer trapped in the car :D

Unfortunately, he needs some work done on his teeth, they are not in very good condition, although his gums are still healthy. The vet is going to send me quote through on Monday, but it looks like we're looking at a bill of around £200:eek:

Ah bless the Bear and his arias [ooer] though I had him down as an old school rocker - suppose its easier for cats to do opera tho. Mr A has some fearsome yowls that are quite operatic - he directs them through the double glazing at the cat over the road when it ventures this way.

Is it plaque on Bear's teeth? We got some homoepathic tabs for one of our previous cats and that cleared it up for much less money. Can PM you more details if its that and you are interested.

Your lunch sounds yummy - hope your DD arrived eventually and you get your website up and running. Have a good weekend.

You can come and have a ride on the Captain. I don't think we live that far apart. He is very kind to people who are new or a bit nervous.

It will take you a while to catch up, the diary runs away with itself sometimes. There are the most wonderful bunch of folk on here. Rumour states a few of them are completely sane too!:rotfl:

You have been successful. Thank you!

I haven't posted to it again :o I have a good excuse, I've had a brainstorming session with dd and come up with the outline of another plot. All I have to do is get on with it!

How are you Nicola? It's good to 'see' you again:)

Maybe Mr A and the Bear could do a duet. The vet recommended some earplugs for me after I told her about his snoring! Wasn't quite the remedy I was hoping for...

Yes it is plaque on his teeth and yes I am interested in any remedies that don't cost quite so much money. I know that it can cause problems if it builds up and infects the gums. I don't want it to come to that.

Lunch turned into dinner as we were so late in getting home. DD took me to the supermarket and insisted on buying stocks of long term essentials, such as washing powder, tinned tomatoes, pasta, freezer bits, cat food and so on. The bill was enormous  I tried to put stuff back or pretend I had it in, but she is very stubborn. So I have a huge stockpile in case of nuclear fallout. Then she wanted to visit the Captain who ate the stockpile of carrots she'd bought him. He's not planning on saving anything edible for wartime :rotfl:

We haven't really got anywhere with the website as when we started talking about it, I'm not really sure how I want to use it. We ended up brainstorming plots for novels and have come up with one. It will take some research, which I will get on with. I already have copious notes to work from.
