I hate getting old too. The eyesight getting worse is horrible. I remember when I was a child having to always thread the needle for my grandma because she couldn't see it well enough. Now that's me :(

I've only done about half my list, I might get another couple done, but my motivation and energy seem to have slipped!

That's a lot of money for a mirror  I left one in the garage once, reversed out too close to the wall :o

Perhaps you can do the trips on some ebay selling?

    Hi Piquant,

I had to write you a note after finding your diary! Congratulations on shifting so much debt!

I love the sound of Captain he sounds amazing, I have my name down to adopt a horse I am very fond of when he retires from his army career, I just hope when they release him I can afford him - he's 22ish so struggling a little with his legs too but he's a legend!!!

Hope your list is going well!!!!

Thank you and hello! Lovely to see you

An army horse, they are amazing, very well trained I've heard. The Captain would be shot for insubordination I'm afraid :rotfl: I don't think he has any intention of retiring, but there again, he's not a working horse. Just one for arguing in ditches with...He's still going strong and is 26 now. Although in the cold weather he is very stiff and had several days during the winter when he couldn't be ridden.

There are lots of horsey folk on here, and doggy folk and catty folk...somewhere there's a goldfish too. There's also plenty of sane friends too, come and join us!

I'm not sure that was a very successful day. I went down to the yard with the intention of riding the Captain to discover him the dirtiest I've ever seen him  He had no white bits at all, somehow he had got his rug off and rolled and rolled and rolled. I had to hose him off then shampoo him, then try and get him dry again. It took forever and was he sorry? Was he heck...

Maybe Mr A and the Bear could do a duet. The vet recommended some earplugs for me after I told her about his snoring! Wasn't quite the remedy I was hoping for...

Yes it is plaque on his teeth and yes I am interested in any remedies that don't cost quite so much money. I know that it can cause problems if it builds up and infects the gums. I don't want it to come to that.

 to a duet - that way lies bleeding ears methinks :rotfl:. Mr A is a fine snorer as well and even when he's not asleep he sometimes whistles through his nose!

I'll get the info re teeth plaque and PM you - might take me a couple of days but I won't forget.

Naughty Captain in the mud - does he think Shetland ladies find that attractive or summat?

sounds like the Captain has had a fine time of late with his mud baths lol glad it also gave you some fun with giving him a shower or two lol

one of my cats was so stupid (no finer way of saying it) that, after the older cat teaching him about mice's and how you catch and play with them - always on dead ones at this stage, the first time that he caught his own mouse he put it down expecting it to stay there and when it scarpered off into the border and then i'm guessing the next door field he didn't 'get it' so just sat there for the rest of the afternoon waiting for it to come back out to play. To be honest it was probably off telling it's mates how this dopey cat let it go thinking that it would just stop there, der!
