Hi Piq take a pinch (and I mean so small you could hardly see it) add to food, repeat for 2 days, then make it a larger pinch, then a double pinch and so on - he will not notice providing you are sneaky with it
Other thing to try is if you have a willow tree near by get some clippings from it - good as has salicylic acid in it.Start info Dec11

Morning Piq and friends,
Sorry yesterdays Job Centre Experience was another rubbish one ! Seriously , I do think they employ a special breed of people at these places ( apologies to anyone reading , who does actually work there , I am sure you are one of the lovely ones !)
I'm not sure what your actual official line of work is. Is it mentioned somewhere in the diary and I have missed it, or cant you really say ? I know you have mentioned £inked £n in the past, we use that and find it reasonably succesful.
Good Luck today with any applications you may do xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

On a good day I consider myself a reasonably intelligent woman, but I'm afraid the benefit system is doing my head in. It seems very complex.
I've just learned that my jsa has been put on hold because I can't tell them how much my building society is going to pay out on the mortgage payment claim. I have explained that I've spoken to the insurance company and they are waiting for details from my last employer and then the claim will be processed.
I can't speed this along any faster. It doesn't seem very fair that the claim only went in a couple of weeks ago, the DWP seem a little over-enthusiastic about cutting off the jsa.
If I understand correctly what the woman said, and I'm not sure I do, if the mortgage claim pays out this is classed as income and I will probably lose the jsa anyway.
I think I want to cry, why is it so difficult?
I've found another three jobs I'm completely unsuitable for, I shall apply for them this afternoon.

Oh Piq,
It all sounds a total nightmare, dont cry though. Something will come up in the end surely ? I dont think I know of anybody who seems to be trying as hard as you .
What about some sort of freelance writing, send stuff into magazines etc. I'm clutching at straws I know , I have no experience in this kind of thing at all, just trying to think on my feet ( actually my rear end actually as I am sitting down !)

That's disgusting hon! I'm shocked! We are talking an amount of money that wouldn't even cover my grocery bill that they were paying you, that they suspend because you may get your mortgage paid by an insurance policy you paid for to cover for such an eventuality? This system is seriously messed up! You pay into the system for years and when you try to claim the measly amount they dish out like it was gold dust, they treat you like this. Seems to me the workshy and the layabouts only seem to prosper with benefits of any kind, working people get shafted every which way.
What you gonna do if they do refuse you JSA? I read your entire 35 page thread over a period of 3 hours a few days ago, been following your story ever since, you are an inspiration! I wish life wouldn't keep kicking you in the teeth, I really do, it annoys me as its not fair :eek:0 -

Manic grin plastered on face, I have got my clothes on though....
I'm researching local business group set-ups to see if there's anything I can do there. Brilliant suggestion from Mrs B. Funnily enough e*bay man may want some copy written for his website as he's opening a new shop, so something may come of that.
I just applied for almost three jobs, I did all the work on one, re-did cv wrote new covering letter sent it off and got the message sorry this job is no longer available  Well why not take it down then?
Filed the applications and counted the ones I applied for in March - 58
The Bear's annual inoculations are due. I'm going to ring round for the best price, I don't care if he fancies his vet, he's going cheap. Unfortunately, the Captains annual insurance is due £537, there is no way of getting this down as only one company will insure a horse his age. I'll have to get back on ebay for him.
B*gger this for a game of soldiers, I feel really tearful, must pull myself up by the bootstraps as it isn't going to help in any way.
Think I will recycle a Captain story for the blog, see if it gets any more interest or followers. I'm thinking a successful blog will help as part of a writing portfolio. I got a book out of the library - Twitter for Dummies [how apt] as I should be able to use this a marketing tool.
Waving in a pathetically forlorn way....

You read all 35 pages? Wow, you must be mad! But it's lovely to have you here.
That does seem to be the system. It's very complicated, I don't know how people manage to fiddle it, they must be very clever indeed. I'm fairly sure one of us on my diary knows about benefits, I will read back later and see if I can find them and ask some advice.
I don't know what I'm going to do when the money runs out, it's worrying me a lot. I just have to keep looking and hope that something turns up soon.
Thanks for being so supportive, I appreciate it.
