The Captain did a prison break last night and went out for a night on the tiles. Somebody didn't fasten the kick bolt on his stable door, so he let himself out.

The breakfasts are stacked at the end of each stable block ready for the morning, he knocked over all the stacks and ate every single carrot in every single breakfast bucket. He spilled the water buckets leaving them all over the place and was found happily grazing grass behind the muckheap this morning. He also had the nerve to demand breakfast!

He has suffered no ill effects from his overdose of carrots but is on double lock-down tonight.

I've just had a disagreement with the man pet and sent him home. For varying reasons we haven't managed to get together this week so we were looking forward to a bottle of wine, pizza and a film this evening.

During the evening his dd texted and called seven times for nothing in particular. She is staying over night at his house as she was going out with some friends and was supposed to be out for the evening. Not that it matters about her being on her own for a few hours she is 33! She knew he was coming round to my house, so felt it necessary to keep asking where the bread was, did he have any chips in the freezer and so on.

I could feel myself getting crosser by each text or call. In the end I told him to go home and find out what the matter was, why couldn't she leave us alone for a few hours? I guess he feels caught between a rock and a hard place, but for goodness sake, he's entitled to a life of his own without having spot checks on what time he's coming home

I get to finish off the wine though:D

Prison break: It was a Saturday night after all!

I saw someone on tv once say "It's a text not a bloody royal summons" So basically he should have left the phone off.

My OH has the opposite issue. She always goes out without her work or personal phone. She also forgets to charge them until they are dead flat and can't find them. I feel for you doll. It would be nice to have all attention on you for one date night a week.

Hmmm man pet's daughter is 33 going on 3 by the sounds of it - that girl has some issues. Glad you have txtd and made up though :D.

Naughty Captain and the breakfast carrots bet he had a busy night. Funny how Bear likes your laptop, Mr A is jealous of mine and whenever I'm sitting with it he has to get on my lap too and try to push it off. He also rubs his neck on it to make it his! He has never brought me a present and I'm quite grateful for that. I don't think he can sustain the focus to hunt anything - bless. There was a spider came running towards him when he was lying on his dog bed [too big for a cat one] and he was interested for a second and got up to sniff it but then just wandered off again.

Our previous cat who had to be an indoor cat was a prolific insect hunter and would go looking for spiders to eat - yeuch.

Hope you are having a good weekend - sunny here but chilly

My diary seems to work by itself! Lots of posts - lovely....

The dog texts are so funny I love the hurricane and the crisps :rotfl::rotfl:

Lucielle, I'm afraid you're giving the Captain a more generous nature than he has. There was no lobbing of carrots, no sharing whatsoever. He views all food as his, all other neddies can s*d off!

It's a text not a bloody royal summons - hadn't thought of it that way, but it's very true! I'm supposed to being seeing him Tuesday, I'll have to say something if it continues. Hopefully, though he's got the message [rather than the text :D]

Teapot you've just reminded me that last summer when the Bear dozed on the bed in the sunshine he would be surrounded by dead insects, blue-bottles, wasp and flies mainly  maybe a dozen or so. He must swat them if they buzz him. It makes it look like he's a smelly alley cat though!

Our current purrballs are fond of an arachnid hors doeuvres especially in autumn when the really big ones are about - they chase them round, mercilessly play with them and finally if they dont do the vertical run up the wall the poor spider is eaten - big purrball often has a leg or two dangling from his chin:rotfl: Good job we are not squeamish!

Exactly! Smudger used to love the autumn 'cos when it was wet all the spiders would come into the house and he'd love the extra protein. He didn't bother playing with them just launched straight into eating them. As you say lovely to see the legs hanging out and hear the crunch of the big ones aaargh:rotfl:.

The Bear only kills, he doesn't eat them, unfortunately, I have to hoover them up!

I spent a few happy hours reading your thread on my phone on the train home from Liverpool on Friday and enjoyed it greatly. Captain is a true character who reminds me of 2 of my past horses. Liv got stuck in a ditch the second day I got her and after having to be knocked out and dug out by several farmers and 2 vets promptly broke out her stable that night and ate 12 feeds before starting on the haylage. YO could not believe it when she came out of her box sound and uncolicky the next day (after being caught and locked in when they checked on her!) I have many more stories about her. My other horse drum used to break baler twine at shows and terrorise the ice cream van as he loved ice creams the only trouble was he was 17.3 so rather scary to non horsey ice cream men!

I love the fact you are following up with your creative writing and I have fingers, toes and hooves crossed that you get a fab new job soon. I am also inspired by the amount of debt you have paid off.
