Hi In The Green  - good to see you're back. Lots of horsey peeps hanging out here :D

Piq - hope you and manpet are ok this week.

We are always first on the yard at our place (due to 2 of mine being box walkers!) and have on many occassion had to retrieve houdini type ponies and put them where they belong - I remember one had jumped 2 paddock fences to have everyones feed. It is for this reason I keep my own horses feed locked in tack room - Mare 1 is on Regumate (not for boys) and Old Boy has various supplements and painkillers and sometimes anti biotics in his.

Your Blog is developing nicely - I keep going and catching up :D

I hope this is a good week for you on the job front.

Hugs and kisses for Captain from the girls x

Hey luurve the blog Piq...I was expecting the good stories (of course!;)) but the look of it is great. Very impressed:D

    Have a good day x

Thank you! I'm writing the next post at the moment, I'm moving onto internet dating as a topic. I went on some jaw dropping ones before I met the man pet. I thought I'd post some of them up and see whether people liked them or not.

I've found a lovely picture for the post too.

I spent a few happy hours reading your thread on my phone on the train home from Liverpool on Friday and enjoyed it greatly. Captain is a true character who reminds me of 2 of my past horses. Liv got stuck in a ditch the second day I got her and after having to be knocked out and dug out by several farmers and 2 vets promptly broke out her stable that night and ate 12 feeds before starting on the haylage. YO could not believe it when she came out of her box sound and uncolicky the next day (after being caught and locked in when they checked on her!) I have many more stories about her. My other horse drum used to break baler twine at shows and terrorise the ice cream van as he loved ice creams the only trouble was he was 17.3 so rather scary to non horsey ice cream men!

I love the fact you are following up with your creative writing and I have fingers, toes and hooves crossed that you get a fab new job soon. I am also inspired by the amount of debt you have paid off.

Thank you that is so kind of you. I never thought I'd be read on the train from Liverpool St. I've done that journey so many times myself over the years.

You have my sympathy about having your horse dug out, nerve wracking! The Captain had to be led down a straw stack by firemen and vets with all the padded landing stuff down. He had managed to climb up twenty feet or so for a snack....I'll tell the tale one day soon.

Love the picture of the ice-cream terrorist! Naughty boy!

Please hang around, lots of animals on here. Baldy Bear just posted a picture of her foal on her thread, we'll bully her into posting it here too!

Unfortunately, mines the only Houdini type on the yard. All the rest are as good as gold. If he does escape a small child can catch him and lead him back as he's very gently and has a lot of mane to hold onto.

Haven't seen man pet since the weekend, we seem to be okay via text though.

I forgot to add a horsey money saving tip to my post, turmeric!

Its great for those with bad joints (both human and horses) For horses just buy from asian supermarkets. My mum takes the tablets and has noticed a real difference in her arthritic fingers.

It would be lovely, but unfortunately not:( I've applied for three jobs this morning, ridden the Captain and am mentally preparing myself for a ten page application form for a part-time job this afternoon!

The Captain and I rode in the indoor school today, the weather is horrific, certainly not hacking weather! We had trot poles out [ to the non-horsey, the poles are about 3" high and in the Captain's case used to make him pick his feet up properly instead of dragging them] Fairly sure he was trying to show me that he could have been the only piebald in the Grand National and won it as well! He was jumping them at every given opportunity as if they were at least six foot. We had a wonderful time, racing round to do them again and again. Not bad for a 26 year old horse at all!

Tomorrow I have the joy of the Job Centre. I wonder what interesting suggestions they will come up with this time. Ant farmer perhaps?

I have an e*bay item still not paid for, I've dropped them a note telling them that if I haven't heard from them by first thing tomorrow morning I'm reporting them for non-payment. I have another items where I said buyer collects and I've got someone who wants to have it couriered across to them. I've told them I don't have the packing materials for something so large and don't want to wait in for a courier, but he still wants it. Painful...

Shortly off to do the application from hell, but first a visit to the diaries...

    Hiya inthegreen!

I didn't know that. I wonder if the Captain would take it. He knows when I'm trying to poison him! He had to have bute [painkiller] when he'd had a night on the tiles a couple of years ago and banged his head. No matter how I tried to sneak it in his dinner, he knew and wouldn't touch it. I resorted to chopping carrots up into tiny cubes and he spent 45 minutes picking the carrots out and leaving the rest! The only way to get him to take it is to mix the powder into honey and sandwich digestive biscuits together :D

I'll give the turmeric a go and let you know.

He may end up with a coloured snozzle and fragrant breath but at least he will move, although he sounds like he still has loads of life yet!

I syringe bute down mine I am afraid as I have the pickiest eater known to man!

Good luck with the job application, I hate form filling
