Great news re the ppi, can I make one small suggestion though, rather than clearing that small card, offer them a final reduced settlement first. As at the moment they are only getting £45 pm, I would be surprised if they don't accept a lump sum of perhaps 50% of what you owe them. You may even be able to clear your 2 smallest debts that way

So pleased for you, couldn't happen to a nicer person really x

I didn't know I could do that. I haven't defaulted on the card payments even though it is a very high interest rate. I'll try it out when I get the money. I've filled in my bank details and they will transfer directly into it within twenty days. All I have to do now is remember to post it :o

Oh my! Fantastic news. You really deserve it.

    Sheds - try this site

    www.shedstore.co.uk

We are having a garden makeover (because you live too far away Piq  ) and our gardener has recommended this company.

That's an interesting site, thank you. Oh no!! I've just found sheds interesting.....

I'm planning on getting a small one with no window, it will be under trees and I don't plan on socialising in it nor taking trips down the garden to clean the windows :D

    Hi all,

Sorry to but in, just cruising by your forum, saw the post from Piq about the pip offer - Ab Fab !

    Enjoy.

I'm still in the process of changing to a payer off rather than a splurger, but I am getting there. I'm quite inspired by you all and at the same time ashamed i can't get a better grip on my debts.
Keep the faith and thank you

Hello :hello: lovely of you to pop by.

It's one of the hardest things to change from being a splurger to a payer and every now and again you fall off the wagon. That is where this thread and many others like it help. Plenty of 'friends in the box' to lift you up, dust you off and help you back on the wagon.

My advice on getting a grip on your debts is not to aim too high. Start with a couple of small changes and build on that. For example look into one regular bill, electricity perhaps and see if you can get it cheaper by changing supplier.

Perhaps you could do a meal plan for five days a week, you'll be amazed how much it brings your shopping bill down when you actually know what you need to buy rather than impulse buying with no particular meal in mind. Having said that, the chocolate still impulsively jumps in my trolley :o

Thank you for all your kind comments, it's made my day. I will try not to lose the feeling on the coffee shop shift. Monday is not normally a bad day so should be okay.

Not an awful lot to report on. Yesterday I got plenty of gardening done, the washing dried in the garden and I did an hour of housework [set the timer to make me stick at it :o]

I'm going to a gardening show next weekend courtesy of my mum and dad, really looking forward to that. I will set myself a budget and leave the card at home :rotfl:

Over and out now as I must be on my merry way!

It shouldn't be a problem. Write to them, once the money is with you, tell them your current financial difficulty, explain that you have a small amount of money that you are able to offer one of your creditors. Ask them to consider a reduced final settlement amount, give them a time frame to respond and tell them if they fail to do so the money will go to the next person on your list.

You could clear a fair bit of your remaining debt this way. I know Mrs PG has done this with some of her predators and she, (or someone else reading), may have a template letter you could use
