Thank you! I'm not going to rush to spend it. I have decided to clear my penultimate credit card it will save me £45 a month, most of which is interest

I'll shop around for a shed, no hurry, as long as I get one by the winter. The rest of the money will sit and keep me safe.

Back in 2009 I claimed ppi on my loan. The bank said it was unable to uphold my complaint but they could make me an good will offer of £750.00 I accepted and put the money against one of my debts. The loan is since paid off and forgotten about.

When I got home yesterday amongst the mail was a letter from the loan bank saying they had reviewed the way sale ppi claims were investigated and they have been unable to confirm that sufficient information was provided when I took out the policy. They are terribly sorry about this and would like to make a further offer including interest at 8% of £4,321.10 [I can't find a fainting smilie] I had to keep re-reading the letter as I couldn't believe what I was reading :rotfl:

    Hi all,

Sorry to but in, just cruising by your forum, saw the post from Piq about the pip offer - Ab Fab !

    Enjoy.

I'm still in the process of changing to a payer off rather than a splurger, but I am getting there. I'm quite inspired by you all and at the same time ashamed i can't get a better grip on my debts.
Keep the faith and thank you

wowsers great news re PIP cheque. It will be good to have a 'cushion' while you decide what to do with it :D.

Well done to Colin for not battering the stray cat. They do take time to befriend. When we lived in Londinium there was a stray at the back of the flats that I used to feed - had to drop the food out of the window on a bit of kitchen roll as he was so scared. Fed him for a year and wasn't able to pat him once he was so terrified. One day after a year or more he came to the door and strolled in and didn't go out for 6 weeks!!! Such a lovely boy, we had him for about 13 years and I still miss him, sob.

All I have to do is fill in the form and send it off. There's a piece of paperwork I won't be putting off! and there is my new shed and gate!

I don't know what I'll do with the rest. I am tempted to pay off the smallest credit card and keep the rest aside for the moment.

    ....

This is simply AMAZING news. It couldn't have happened to a more deserving or wonderful person...I am made up. Xx
