  • We've got 50mph gusts up here this morning - I was expecting to find the boys tucked inside their field shelters, but no, they were out on the hill nibbling at the grass through the snow.

Stay safe and warm everyone xx

A superhero gardener with a winceyette onsie and a dressing gown instead of a cape.

Now thats an angle no one else will have.

(i am merely painting a picture and I have no idea if you own a winceyette onsie! I would love one !)

I do not, and never will, own a onesie:eek::eek::eek::eek: They are for people two years old and under! If truth be known, I couldn't cope having to take it all off to go to the loo in the middle of the night either

The dressing gown isn't very flattering either - brown - and tied in the middle like a sack. DS3 always used to shout out 'why hullo mama bear' if he caught me wearing it :rotfl:But it is warm!

Only a mad person would go out in their dressing gown, today?

Personally, i can't get out of my door, as the snowdrift is piled all the way up the door. :D :rotfl:

Predicted snow and blizzards have arrived, (the blizzard making the snow ten times worse.) :(

Appointment has had to be cancelled. The flip side of that is, they've just rung me, instead. :o

    Have a good day. x

Stay warm ani and nurse those seedlings. Allegedly we will get snow tonight. Personally, I'm hoping the snow's sat nav is broken and it misses here entirely.
Morning Piq I'm delurking. It must be so hard to be separated from the Captain at the moment so glad you have Colin. My two cats have kept me sane through an acrimonious divorce, two bereavements and especially the last 18 months since my dad passed away, I had to give up my job in London and move to look after my Mum who is Bedbound and has dementia. Wouldn't be without my Alfie and (annoying) Murray because he seems to have a bottomless stomach. Just sending you my very best wishes. Off give Mum a wash and wait for the Tesco delivery. Highlight of my week I always order a Jam doughnut and it's always reduced to 10p!! Lol Suz and the moggies xxx

You have your hands full suz, that's not an easy load to bear. Pets do make things easier. My Colin would give your Murray a race to the food bowl any day!
I love the sound of Noah. He sounds ace.

My little boy goes to a nearby farm with his childminder, and there is a characterful shetland pony there called Mrs Pickles. She has crazy voodoo eyes like Pinot. (haha) she nips the adults and nuzzles the children and mothers this ginormous horse who is called Freddie and generally bullies him.

She is ace! All horses should have a Noah or Mrs Pickes as a freind!

The Captain loved a shetland at the year we've just left, he was always escaping to be with her. He seems to have transferred his horsey affections to Noah. Boy love very sweet. Noah only reaches the Captain's shoulder will be interesting if they decide to groom each other, the Captain will have very tidy legs....

Colin's only two, I hope he goes on for a while yet. I know it may sound strange, but it wouldn't help me to be separated from him. I'm separated from the Captain now and I cry about it every night. I'm trying to get things off the ground so I can have him back. I don't want to lose Colin to get the Captain back. I want both of them!
((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) Had no idea that Colin was little more than a kitten, he has the 'seen it all' attitude of a much older cat. I wish I could wave magic wands for you, but from what you say there, yes, you must keep Colin.
Please try to take comfort from the fact you have done the best for Captain.

I'm sorry Prat's have messed up your pay, that will have been less than helpful...

Now dont knock it until you try it.....I was of the same opinion as you until I tried DD2s onesie - just in house mind I dont think they are for shopping in and those who do should be taken away IMHO! Neither would I wear one for bed.But a cosy onesie for pottering about house in is fab - also as it is an 'Owl' it doubled up nicely as an outfit for World Book Day when the adults at work have to suffer the indignation of dressing up as a character from a story book - couldnt wear it for too long too blimmin hot!

Does this count as a onsie?

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/MusucBag-Classic-Black-L/dp/B005R0DML2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1363976783&sr=8-1

Mine is a different colour/heavier weight, and even better, it was free. Bosses gave me one of those pre-loaded credit cards and I was so sick of sitting in my North facing front room, freezing whilst watching TV, that I thought I don't care what it looks like, I need to be warm. However, despite their hype, I still need a blanket (or two) on top, the room is so cold.

Piq - fingers crossed that Grasp The Nettle and the possible roadshow takes off. I'd love to join the list, although accommodation is a challenge (small flat). But I'd love someone to knock my jungle/shingle-coming-through-membrane garden into shape who wouldn't speak to me as if I were an imbecile.

(As for plumbing matters, I get sick of plumbers who have come into the house - for other jobs and when I ask them to take a look at my stupid bathroom (tiny, awkward situation), with an eye on giving it a complete refurb in the future - I get the typical male plumber/female client response: "sharp intake of breath, lots of shaking of head and tsk tsk tsk, followed by "oh no, love, that will be difficult" - whilst they no doubt see pound signs appeaer in their eyes.

    All the best.
  • its a michelin man onsie! Amazing!

  • And if you like "cats doing funny things", there's a New Zealand blogger who every Friday updates "Four Legs Good". This week I thought was particulary good. Shelby looks so like my late kitty.

Though we'd probably better not show Colin what Ginger Meggs is eating out of.

I am *seriously* considering a onesie after the winter we've had - we have no central heating in this house, just a woodburner and night storage on Total Heating Total Control, which has to be the worst named tariff ever because it means Scottish Hydro watches the weather forecast and adjusts your storage heaters to be on when it thinks you'll need them. It's also impossible to switch away from, because it's got a special meter that no other company will touch.

*adds proper central heating system to the 'one day' wishlist*
  • I am thinking of getting a onsie, purely for pottering purposes. I want one, I know they look daft but imagine how warm and toasty they are!
