So so sorry you're having to move the Captain..but am so relieved you have somewhere to move him to, where he will be loved and looked after. Will say no more as I know it's completely stressful and so very sad.
:T:T :T at you posting that card!!!:T well done.
Re the "Gardens Tour"- That's great. Go to NL first and then let me know when you're free afterwards as I have several people ( eg. My parents) who would probably be delighted to have someone sort the garden for them...maybe I could even arrange it as a surprise birthday present as I am always wondering what to give them...almost like a voucher and I would simply pay you..they get the work and your lovely advice and company!!!:D
:j:j:j as usual a few days behind everyone else, but just wanted to say - Me Too, my parents are desperate for someone, can we add them onto the tail end of the Road Show please ?!
Now I m going to carry on reading the posts after Mrs B's above and no doubt find things have moved swiftly on , on the Gro Bag that is Piqs diary and what I posted is now completely irrelevant !! :rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Right I have caught up now, I can relax and go to bed now that I know everything that is happening over here.
Piq, I am glad Captain seems happy and settled but sad that you are feeling down.:( Your friend sounds so lovely and I am sure she will spoil him for you.
Loving the parting gift for Mr Yard Owner, I wish I had known, I have a horrible plant that grows everywhere and anywhere on my back fence, no idea what it is but you could gladly have had a cutting for him to add to your presents !
Take Care You xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

It's a large [usually wooden] framework covered in netting, that stops the birdies munching on your raspberries, cherries etc.0 -
and a mechanism to get into said wooden structure to munch on your cherries etc without company but as a consequence prone to needing MEGA WEEDING as you "forget" about that bit as it is covered!Start info Dec11

Wow look how far the ideas have run - Piq welcome to your Grasp the Nettle Roadshow!
(Love it, love it, love it!).

Sorry yes obviously including a tightly fitting door [with catch]. Netting must be small enough to prevent the ingress of the smallest local fruit-chomping birdies, but large enough to admit bees if you want to find a decent crop within [in the appropriate season].
They used to be quite common - went with bigger gardens and the expectation that most folk would 'grow their own'. When I was very young indeed and living with Grandparents, I suspect Grandpa used his as an impromptu play-pen for me while he was doing things in the garden which included sharp implements. I remember hours of fun hiding amongst the raspberry canes, grazing on the fruit..0
