So poor I can't even pay attention

.He will always have a reminder of me in his garden as I temporarily planted a plant that spreads. It was a cutting from my garden, it takes over unless it's kept in check. It will strangle everything. I was going to plant it in a pot and sink it in the ground, but forgot the pot. He stopped me doing his garden before I got to doing it...oh dear...
Oh dear, how awful for him. Once it's strangled all the plants does it move on to humans :whistle:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

....and finally my update!
Obviously Colin and I have returned home without the CaptainNot that Colin cares one whit! I think he's disappointed to be here, he was certainly disappointed at first breakfast. He did a double take at the lack of salmon or trout. Yes, my friend spoilt him horribly with beef, venison, trout and salmon, then had the gall to try to rename him Tub Muffin!
I was surprised at how laid back Colin was about travelling and strange surroundings, cats are not like dogs in that sort of thing. I had taken his blanket and bowls for familiarity, but he wasn't worried at all. Mind you, he's nearly wiped all his fur off since he's got home scent marking the chair legs, door frames and anything else that 'belongs' to him :rotfl:
We got home late yesterday afternoon. I think the stress got to me as I spent most the evening in the bathroom  Meaning today I feel wiped out. I'm going to try to push myself to get things going, to push myself through the depression at the fact that the Captain is so far away from me now. He's been a daily part of my life for so long, adapting is going to be so hard.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Whilst I was at my friend's place we went to H0mebase as they had 20% off gardening stuff. I picked up a ladies border spade that was originally £29.99 somehow it got reduced to £15.99, not arguing at the maths. Also picked up some cheap pots for painting. Money I haven't got, but can't manage other gardens without a lighter weight spade.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Your colin is a real character, I have a cat who is fussy about food, Anthea, she will not eat cat biscuits unless they are a plain mid brown, not milk coloured, not green ones, and definately not rust coloured ones.
They also have to be the cheapest breeder biscuits possible. Not even go cat is suitable.
Our pet shop couldnt fill our breeder pack order as the wrong one had been delivered, so they did us an interim bag, and the saturday girl sat and picked the wrong coloured bits out.
Thats good service!
Ive got 5 cats and only Anthea has the food foibles. Bless her.Trying to shift that debt!0 -

Piq I was glad to read that Captain is settling in well at his new home. How far away from your house is he now?
Oh, and well done for leaving a little parting gift in YO's garden - naughty, but it's his karma for ending the arrangement before you had time to move the plant!
You are going to need a few basic tools for Grasp the Nettle!, and probably a small van too. To fund this I have a suggestion. Couldn't mention it earlier because you were tied by the necessity of caring for Captain every day. But now, especially as Colin has shown he will accept a new location [- would your friend have him to board sometimes?], you are in a position to consider doing something a bit radical to boost your funds:
https://www.country-cousins.co.uk/
I know several women who are 'cousins'. They work at the client's home for two - four weeks at a time. Common sense is the most valuable qualification, the wages are good - and arrive as a lump sum at the end of each placement.
The 'cousins' I know are all happy in the job; most have a couple of regular clients where they're providing respite for family carers or they might be helping someone return home after a hospital stay. Pay is higher if you're prepared to offer personal care, but the basic job is simply running the client's household and keeping them company for a couple of weeks.
As part-time work it's a cracker - so long as you are able to leave your home responsibilities for a couple of weeks every two or three months (or more often if you need to build up a bigger stake).
Anyway, it might be something to think about.0 -
