G'day Piq
Haven't really got anything to add other than it's exciting to read about your plans and you 'read' as a much happier person.
I would definitely employ you if I lived closer as although I love gardening unfortunately my disability makes it difficult to spend a good amount of time on the garden and the less said about husbandpet's skills the better :rotfl:
Can't wait to read the next instalment.

Hi Piq et al
I am good Piq - new job going well, I am now teaching 4 ICT lessons a week along side being a teaching assistant. The OU degree is coming along, I do find it hard to fit it all in, but somehow I manage. We got the call today to say that Ofsted are visiting us tomorrow and Thurs - not looking forward to that, but what will be will be.
I cannot wait for the weather to warm up so that the horses can be out 24/7 - it really has been a long winter as the horses were in earlier than normal. I have been lucky this year that husbandpet has been getting cheap haylage for us and free straw otherwise some touch decisions would have had to have been made!
Ladies, the ideas you are giving Piq are fantastic - keep up the good work! I wish I was more creative.
Good luck Piq.

Hi Piq, hope you are ok after your busy day yesterday? Thought I'd add my limited experience of using a gardener when I had a bad back and couldn't bend.
He just did some weeding and tidying up and it cost £9 an hour. I think someone else mentioned a similar figure so maybe thats the going rate?
Take care, Teapot0 -
Going rate here is 15 an hour.

Today I might, just might, put up a card in a shop. Inspired by my friend from yesterday I'm going to write a short note saying how I love gardening and would love to help out in your garden or words to that effect. I wonder if it will work...
I'm failing spectacularly on any business plan/organisation of it all. Perhaps getting a customer might help. I do have a spare folder to shove stuff in:o
On a good note, due to the weather, my painted pots experiment is coming on well I have made myself a corner in the garage and have about six pots in various forms of creation. Plus there are two extra experimental pots covered in different finishes, writing and stencilling. Driven on by my dragonfly fetish, I accidentally ordered some green iridescent paint using some money left in my paypal account.
No-one told me how hard it was to make your own stencils.....how many times a curved line slipped across the design into a straight line I don't know. Just as well it's been too cold to do any gardening and that I bought an A3 piece of stencilling card!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Morning Piq do you have snow? We had rather a lot and it caused all mann of pain travelling home yesterday and in today.
So I feel the need to get cracking with a plan for you and some lists .... I call a "BoArd" meeting not a bored meeting you understand
I don't think a meeting with you could be considered a bored meeting. I'd be so grateful for any help. I do have scraps of paper with things written on:o

Piq,
I hope you managed to get the notice written up and in the shop today. You never know it may just do the trick and even if it brings in one or two customers it will be a start. I don't know if your local shop charges for ads but at least wouldn't be as much as printing loads of flyers and its a start in the right direction. I am sure you will manage to write something interesting and witty to grab potential clients attention.
Best of luck
