It's payback time Piq - you spent years raising him as a kind and caring person, now he's doing what comes naturally :T.
I thunk my DD and DS would have me out on the streets.

He is a good boy, but they all are!
Ali's muffins are in the oven, if they turn out okay I'll post the recipe. I've sort of made it up, so it could be interesting!
Yesterday was interesting.
I went to work expecting a normal shift, but when I got there was told I should have been there Friday  They had changed the rota on Thursday, but I wasn't in Thursday and no-one told me  Manager was lovely about it, it was hardly my fault and is still going to pay me but gave me the day off as I wasn't needed - good result!
Unfortunately, I have to do a Secret Santa for a fiver, it's not money I've got but didn't feel I could say so. I got a lovely little sequined make-up bag from Marks, I don't know the girl well and thought that all girls like sequins and make-up.
Now comes the bit you'll like....
When I got home my neighbour rushed to the car, very distressed. My cat was wedged in their bird table and they couldn't get him outHe was well and truly stuck.
Bl**dy Colin.
Apologising profusely, I followed him to the back garden. And there, in all his tubby glory, wedged under the roof of the bird table he lay overflowing on all sides with the four wooden columns that hold the roof up digging into various bits of cat.
Upon seeing me he let out a squeak of joy, inhaled, tried to stand up and burst the bird table....
Obviously now frightened by the exploding bird table Colin shot off over the fence, heading for home as fast as he could, leaving me with the next door neighbour looking at the destroyed bird table.:o:o So embarrassing. Luckily he has seen the funny side of it and is refusing to let me buy him a new one, he says it was very old anyway and was rotting away. I will take him over a bottle of wine later to apologise again....
Did Colin
a Decide he was hungry and landed to eat the bird food?
or
b Decide he was hungry and would lie in wait on the bird table for an unsuspecting bird to eat?
The Bear never did any of these things, apart from eat the hedgehog [cat] food. How did I get a cat so different and troublesome?

No-one would have you out on the street, you're far too entertaining.

Oh Piq, I'm sitting here crying with laughter over a mental picture of an exploding bird table, detonated by a large cat! :rotfl::rotfl: Apologies I haven't posted for ages, but I have been lurking
. Well done on the interview, if you haven't done one for a while, why not ask the agency if you can do a practice with one of her colleagues? You'll get honest feedback and anything that you need to correct/amend you can do when you have the real one.
Also loved the story about the Captain dumping the horsey person. I had a similar thing when Sid (Village Idiot Dog) went to dog training classes and refused to listen to a word I said. Class leader decided I was hopeless, and she would take control. Nope, Sid was still far more interested in the corners of the room and the other pups than doing anything vaguely resembling a sit. I stopped going after that... we muddle along at home with the (well-trained) German Shepherd showing him what to do!0 -

Oh dear, that story about Colin has bought tears to me eyes, it is sooooo funny. :rotfl:
Just put up the Christmas decorations, with OHs help this year, wonders will never cease, and the room looks lovely and festive. Planning to take a photo of my DGDs in front of my festive fireplace this afternoon to put into Xmas gifts for family members.
Sooo looking forward to making Christmas cookies this afternoon.

As promised the muffin recipe. Actually, for an experiment for Ali, these were really good. They're the lightest muffins I have ever made, despite having mashed up banana in them.
Ingredients[/
]
- 300g self raising flour
- 175g castor sugar – I used vanilla sugar, but that's because I have it!
- Pinch of salt - because my Grandma always did!
- 100g melted unsalted butter - but you could use sunflower oil
- 50g milk
- 2 large free range eggs
- 2/3 well ripened bananas mashed
- 100g white chocolate chips or chunks
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 12 muffin tray, lined with cases
Method
Turn on oven to 190 deg C.
Sieve together the flour, sugar and bicarbonate of soda [very important as it helps the muffins rise] Stir in the chocolate chips.
Mash the bananas, the riper the better, as this adds more flavour. Lightly beat the eggs, add to the melted butter, milk and mashed banana. Add this to the dry ingredients and chocolate chips, then mix gently, just until all the ingredients are combined, and no flour is visible, then stop! Do not beat as this will give you tough muffins!!
Divide equally between 12 muffin cases, remember to grease your tin if you are not using cases, or they will stick, then bake immediately for approx 20-25 minutes, until they are well risen and firm to the touch. Remove from the oven, and leave in the baking tray for 5 minutes or so to firm up, before turning out onto a cooling rack. Eat warm or leave to cool. ENJOY !
Very easy and miles better than shop bought. I saw some caramel milk chocolate chips yesterday and thought they would go very well with the banana, but you asked for white chocolate so that's what I made...[/
