  • G'day Piq

Sorry for the none response over the weekend but due to getting sorted for the works christmas do on Saturday then spending yesterday in bed due to my cold I've not been on the internet.

Thank you sooooooo much for that recipe, I can't wait to try it out and it makes sense to me plus I love that you've included a picture of the ingredients and end product. Actually reminds of the way my sister taught me to bake sausage rolls via Whatsapp on our phones she sent me step by step pictures and instructions and I've been able to make them and everyone loves them.

May as well give you another laugh thanks to husbandpet - I've been fighting off a cold all week, starting with nearly losing my voice then just struggling with feeling blah. On Saturday I headed off the get my hair done at Noon and hubbie headed off to work until 9pm so no chance of seeing him before I went out. Headed out and partied to the wee hours got home about 1.20am and he thought I look really nice. Went and took off my make-up went back in and he absolutely pee'd himself laughing at me as I looked like death!!! he couldn't believe the difference 20 minutes made let alone the 13 hours it'd been before we'd seen each other lol.

But god love him he left me in bed yesterday with a few chick movies to watch and jaffa cakes, made sure he knew what I wanted for tea and then came home and made me pudding, chips, muchy peas and gravy.

Feeling muzzy today but mostly cos I've had some news that my Grandma is probably not going to be around for much longer so sat at my desk having the odd cry but my colleagues are being really supportive. The worst is that mum rang me from Oz to tell me rather than my family that live here and knowing that my Dad's on even more of a stress as he doesn't know whether he should come over now or wait until the final call. Sucks being so far away from your loved ones.

Anyways sorry to bring the mood down. Thanks for the recipe and might try it tomorrow night.

    Love Ali

Just not so bright... full stop. But so loving!! Adoring brown eyes gazing at you (while the wet, cold beard seeps into your clothes).

As I said, Sid is adorable. He has the face of doggie angel:A. It's rude to mention his beard...
Piq, my girl kitty is the image of your Colin and, sadly, just as Rubenesqe! She only has one sachet of Whiskers daily and a bowl of bikkies with free access, plus her glass of water. She runs about like an idiot, loves playing football with her papa, chases birds and meeces as if she were starving. Maybe it's something to do with their breed??

Good luck for interview, knock 'em dead!

Am going to do your muffin recipe, what do you use if you don't have bananas? Not big on fruit here, love chocolate though!

    x

Only one sachet?? Colin would leave home! I've got him on tins now, much cheaper. One tin does three meals [just] and we won't mention the dry food, hedgehog food, bird food or bird, mouse or fridge contents.

    Other combinations for the muffins might be;
    • cranberry, orange and white chocolate [I'm going to do these for Christmas day, will post up recipe if you like.
    • apricot and walnut
    • blueberry, of course!
    • almond and toffee [would have to experiment with this, but very confident it would work]
    • double or triple choc muffin

    Hi Piq

You have made my day describing Col's antics. Wonder how he managed to climb into the bird table.

Fence to shed to roof of bird table, I'm surprised it held with the initial landing :rotfl: it mus have weakened it quite considerably...
Thank you for the banana muffin recipe - I like the photo of the ingredients and utensils, then the finished product. Very tempting. I had just thrown out two over-ripe bananas - don't feel I can rummage through the compost bin now though. Although no-one would know.....
I won't tell anyone, it's not like you're using the skins.....:o bananas make wonderful food for plants too!

I haven't been on here much, I've either been working or revising for my interview. The agency send me loads of stuff on what questions could possibly come up. It's very detailed and very daunting. There are definitely bits I have no idea what an answer might be. However, this first interview is an informal one, it'll be to talk about my CV mainly and to see if they like me I suppose.

Confession time: For the first time in at least two years I have used my credit card  It was thought through completely and, hopefully, a decision that will pay off. I went to the hairdressers, had my hair cut into a style and highlights put in. Yes, it's a vanity thing, but also a confidence thing for Thursday. The role I'm going for is a senior management role in a huge financial institution, so I think it calls for a well groomed look. I'll be wearing a Hobbs suit which doesn't call for long hair scraped back into a ponytail [my look of choice for ages :D]

It won't make a big difference on the interest payments to the card, probably about a pound a month and I've used the card I intend to keep rather than my target card with NW.

Not a lot else to report on I'm afraid.

As far as I am concerned thats one purchase well called for . Anything to boost your confidence has got to be a good thing.

I am sure you will charm the pants off of them at the first interview and sail through the rest !

I wish I could go with you and hold your hand !! :D

You know, Piq, there's a time to get yourself a new haircut, and I reckon that this is definitely it! You'll feel and look a million dollars, you'll have Piq's Army from here silently willing you on, in fact, you never know you might be interviewed by one of them!!

I'm sure this one has your name on it.

Edit - I will post you a more authentic pic of Sid later. Just to show you what a dog, a large ceramic planter, and black soil-based compost can look like...

Good choice on the use of credit - hope it looks as fantastic as it sounds and I think you will have the right amount of confidence to answer all the interview questions head on and accurately.

Fingers, paws and so on crossed here for you - don't forget a good night's sleep before the event too!

Sid is luverly - a friend had one of him and we used to keep towels for knee level chin wipes!

I hope so. I printed off masses of stuff and read it in the hairdressers. I will do more reading and notes later tonight. No wine for me...

Thinking about it, I did do other stuff today and in a sensible spendy way.

I bought a double load of 'old git mix' for the Captain. I now don't have to worry about him running out over the holidays. It's just taken some of January's budget early.

I sold a book on Green Metropolis, after postage I have made the grand total of 80p:D

I returned a pair of pyjamas because in the cold light of day, no matter how cheap they were, they were also nasty! £12 back in the account.

Collected my suit from the cleaners, must dig out some shoes with small heels, dreading wearing them. Even I know riding boots are a no-no for an interview, especially dirty smelly ones...

I've made some veggie minestrone soup for dinner, a very substantial version too, plus some homemade bread. Also popped some popcorn as I really fancied some and it was lovely!
