Love the Colin mouse story. And love when animals look embarrassed, too. My late horse was definitely vain, he would take a mouthful of hay, and I would say "Ooh, who's that handsome horse, with the little hay moustache?" and I swear he would smirk, he knew it was him! (He was indeed very handsome ...)
I am also working in a shop at the moment, what I hate most is the people who cough and sneeze over me without covering their mouths - yuck, I don't want their germs, I have enough of my own .... and the people who completely ignore me, until they want something. Do your customers do that? I sometimes wonder if I have become invisible (and have been known to mutter stuff to that effect). I ache all over after a busy day, and am just so tired of being cheerful and polite, but it's lovely when you get someone responsive and can have a good laugh, and spread a little cheer. Ho ho.0 -
:rotfl::rotfl:at Colin and the Mouse!
Have you seen any of the Simon's Cat films on YouTube? They're hilarious. I think Colin is chanelling that personality particularly closely.
The snow one always makes me laugh.
Hopefully they'll cheer you up after imbecillic customers."Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

Sorry to hear the customers are being horrible and ignorant....good manners don't cost anything so anyone can be nice if they want.
Colins antics have had me in stitches tonight..it was lovely to read0 -
I'd be tempted to stick a notice up "We appreciate your custom, spending your hard earned cash in our store, however manners cost nothing so we request these also be deployed" but it's not your store sadly.Start info Dec11 :eek:

Colin caught his first mouse!
I was watching him in the garden and knew from his position he'd seen something, he pounced and disappeared in the shrubbery, to reappear with the mouse in his mouth :eek: Hats off to him, I didn't think he was the build for mousing, maybe he just sat on it?
Seeing me at the window, he ran down to the house, proudly carrying his mouse, he roared his tiny squeaky miaow and dropped the mouse which ran off as fast as it's tiny legs would carry it, through a small mouse sized hole in the fence. Colin followed at a fair rate of knots head first into the fence :rotfl:He didn't fit through the hole! I can't believe he thought he would. Poor Colin looked very stunned and embarrased as only a cat can, he sat there for a few moments before jumping up and over the fence after his mouse. I'm not as certain as he was that the mouse was sitting waiting for him on the other side...
Delurking to say this reminded me of Tom & Jerry.:rotfl:If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
Hi Piq,
thanks for posting the pic of Colin in his house - looks good, can you remember which company you bought it from? If I get one for Mr A I'd have to anchor it in some way as it gets v windy up here :eek:. He has recovered from his bite and his tail is restored to full working order. Loved the story of Colin chasing the mouse - it always amuses me when cats do something like roll off the furniture or misjudge a jump as they are never ever wrong and its what they meant to do all along.
Glad you didn't flood that must be such a relief. Have a good evening0 -

I'm glad Mr A's tail is fully recovered. It's so difficult to do the cat walk of disdain with a wonky tail...
Colin's house came from https://www.thepetexpress.co.uk/cats-comfort-and-bedding/cats-comfort-kennels-housing-and-pens/ at the time it was the cheapest place to buy it from. It is quite heavy already, so may not need weighing down, there again, mine does have a Colin weighing it down...What I liked about it was the design stops the rain getting in. In all weathers the cushion inside has stayed dry [I got the cushion that is made to fit, it is very soft and deep, very cosy] I have put it under a bush so Colin feels safely hidden.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
