  • Hello everyone - I'm back as well! However I've been here all the time - just not posting. (only posted once but still feel part of the Piquant family).
I look forward to reading all the posts and laugh out loud - even though I'm here alone!) Granny's cat pic is brilliant. My cat is the same. In fact he's on a diet - that's impossible because I give him the quantity the vet told me he would lose weight on - and I catch him coming over a neighbour's fence licking his lips! I bet they don't have 'light' cat food - I bet they have full-fat biscuits that he pinches! I say he is big-boned. When he stretches up he is very tall....., it's just when he lays down to wash or sleep on his back (just like granny's pic) that he does look a little large. He is agile in that he brings all types of rodents in through the cat flap - yes he can get through. He did almost kill one by laying on it though.
Thank you to everyone for making me laugh (and cry) so much!

    hi everyone,

P - hope your day passes quickly and you are not too exhausted by the end of it.

My mare has sedation for the dentist as she has a funny mouth and her teeth grow crooked. he uses a power tool and its all done in less than 15 mins.

I am off to an indoor showjumping comp this afternoon with small crazy mare and its freezing. I expect this will be it for the year as most of the roads around here are flooded and this same venue cancelled last weekend. I have also done no practice but we are only doing the dizzy heights of 55 and 65 for practice :D

Already looking forward to my hot bath tonight.

have a good weekend everyone x

hope you're feet eventually warmed up and that work today wasn't too hard on you
  • Glad the waters receded without doing any serious damage, Piquant.

I haven't been flooded (thankfully), I work for the EA, although not in flooding. The knowledge seems to seep in without any effort to learn it (a bit like floodwater!) and we're encouraged to share advice as much as possible. I've been annoying all my FB friends this week with messages about not driving through flood water etc this week!
The incident room in our office has been open 24 hours a day for the last week, and we're not even in one of the worst hit areas.

Hope your feet are defrosted and the Christmas shoppers were well behaved!

I like the idea of the Piquant family :T

Well my cat isn't dieting successfully either and he has the low calorie cat food, he just raids the hedgehog food and helps himself to the fridge contents if he feels hungry. Colin looks huge when he sits with his back to me, he has a ginormous cat bum :o

Good luck with dieting your cat...

The day at work was just as bad as anticipated unfortunately. Some people are so rude to serving staff in shops. I'm not sure if they get a kick out of it or don't see shop staff as human. Either way there are some very unpleasant people out there.

The Captain is completely recovered from the dentistry. In fact we did some jumping today  Only small jumps as he is getting on a bit. However, he cleared the jumps with plenty of room to spare  and in record time too  Basically, you are just a passenger, hang on and he'll do the whole thing as fast and high as he can  It's no wonder that the kids love to jump him. Me, I'm not too keen really :( but he enjoyed it!

    Other animal antics...

    Colin caught his first mouse!

I was watching him in the garden and knew from his position he'd seen something, he pounced and disappeared in the shrubbery, to reappear with the mouse in his mouth  Hats off to him, I didn't think he was the build for mousing, maybe he just sat on it? :D

Seeing me at the window, he ran down to the house, proudly carrying his mouse, he roared his tiny squeaky miaow and dropped the mouse which ran off as fast as it's tiny legs would carry it, through a small mouse sized hole in the fence. Colin followed at a fair rate of knots head first into the fence :rotfl:He didn't fit through the hole! I can't believe he thought he would. Poor Colin looked very stunned and embarrased as only a cat can, he sat there for a few moments before jumping up and over the fence after his mouse. I'm not as certain as he was that the mouse was sitting waiting for him on the other side...
