Love it! I used to know an otter who opened the fridge like that - and liked a quick swim in the loo if the lid was open!! I won't mention it to the Striped Person, tho' to be fair I don't think he's that bright ....
Today I am riding for the second time in four years - not the newly backed stallion yet, but a nice mare I rode last week. It went surprisingly well, I was not too stiff, and enjoyed it. Fingers crossed for an equally enjoyable ride today, as I am still rather nervous after such a long time, and my last horse died so suddenly it really knocked me (and OH) for six .... for a long time I was unsure whether I actually wanted to ride again at all. (Silly me!)
Have a lovely day, all. xx

Oh my life, that is priceless! A lock it will have to be.

I rescued a dog who could open all manner of doors, and who then taught the cats to open doors too , I came in one day to find one cat on top of the microwave, dog pawing at the door to open and on cat to the side , watched as one got into the dog opened door, stared to push the FROZEN leg of lamb out as the other two helped by pulling it as it came to the front of the microwave.

I can only imagine Colin's thoughts as he finally got in the fridge....

    ' !!!!!!! A vegetarian, no sausages!'

I'll be looking out a fridge lock in due course...

I have managed my 4 in a row of NSDs and am now up to 10 NSDs for November.

Today I catered for a yard picnic, yes, it is autumn and yes, it was cold and foggy. It was a special birthday and I was asked to do the food. Quite a few of the yardies host dinner parties so I'm hopeful that maybe a little work may come of it. Certainly, the food went down well, not a crumb left.

Other than that, I haven't really done anything today. I have one job application to finish and masses of filing that I have no intention of doing :o Tonight's dinner will be the extra soup and bread that I made for the picnic and a slice of cake, perhaps and only perhaps, a glass of wine :D

  • Delurking to say how much I enjoy your diary.

My son, his wife and long haired cat called Marvin have been living with me for 14 months. A week on Friday they are off to Australia taking Marvin with them, of course!! How I will miss them. Marv and I have become very close, especially early morning when he jumps on my bed, puts his face very close to mine and insists I get up!

He a really large cat about 8kilos but I don't think he is overweight just big boned!

    Best wishes

    MM
  • Lol :rotfl:Colin and his fellow frdge raiders really made me chuckle....

Does anyone remember the newspaper / magazine advert / campaign from years and years ago, probably by Government department , promoting Fish as a good food to buy and eat which showed a cat with oxyacetylene cutting gear and goggles trying to get into a fridge?...loved it :)

Have searched internet but unable to find it

    Hello manchestermargo!

Lovely to see you! Marvin sounds great and big-boned. I love big cats. I always told people that my beloved Bear was tall for a cat! I thought he loved his food, but that was until I met colin...

My friend took his cat Sybil to Australia when he moved there. She has settled in just fine. However, you will miss Marvin a lot. Will you get a cat when he's gone off on his adventures?

    Hello! :hello:
There do seem to be a few fridge raiders around. Colin's latest trick is to pull the duvet off me when he feels it's breakfast time. He is using exactly the same action as the fridge opening -

    • lie on your back
    • stretch out
    • hook claws onto object to be moved
    • pull

    Cold this morning...

I don't remember that advert, but it does sound a little like the Cravendale ads which I love!

I haven't popped in for a few days I've been working. The Christmas shoppers have arrived....the shop is packed full of people, it is very hard work  I suppose on the upside, it's keeping me fit and I'm not spending any money at all. The downside being, I fall asleep on the sofa in the evening.

There's a light frost here this morning, so I've popped the heating on for an hour or so [it'll also dry the washing off :T] I'm being pretty good at not having the heating on in the evening, but that's only because of the heated throw, must be saving me some money too :T

    Today's plans include the following;

    • Make a batch of minestrone soup - veggie style
    • Bake a yogurt cake to use up the greek yogurt - possibly honey cake
    • Plant up the clematis plugs that arrived - my 99p bargains
    • Move a couple of plants in the garden
    • Attempt to dig up a huge plant that is growing too near the washing line - and I don't like it!
    • Take the Captain out in the sunshine
    • Write a cover letter for a job
