Toffee Apple Lemon Cake
I lie. It doesn't keep well at all. It is a noisy cake that keeps shouting at you to eat it never shutting up until it is all gone...
LOL - sounds delicious - I am def going to try it out. Love the idea of just using the pot to measure.
Pinot - I think the sugar and butter create like a sticky toffee substanceGosh I am starving - off to make my lunch.

Wow your life is not boring..I'm picturing you riding through the woods with a handsome chap..laughing with the wind bowing through your hair...your house smelling delicious from all the wonderful recipes you make, your house clean and lovely and you sat by the laptop with colin the cat meeowing near by.....now what's wrong with that
Nothing's wrong with that picture, except Richard, bless, would only be considered handsome by gargoyle:o He hit every branch on the ugly tree on the way down, I'm afraid.
And my hair.....if it's been windy, it goes frizzy and sticks up all over the place :mad:slowlyfading wrote: »I wouldn't be so sure - if doesn't have to book a straight cookery blog, more a life in general blog? Thriftlady has a very successful blog about her life and findings, and it is a good read - as I'm sure yours would be too! It's just a thought anyway.
And thanks for the recipe, going to add it to my list of things to try!
Yogurt makes lovely cakes. You don't have to use lemon yogurt, plain or vanilla would do, then of course, it might not be a toffee apple lemon cake. But that's the fun of experimenting with ingredients and making your own recipes. I write the more successful recipes up, so that my children have a living book of things they have eaten over the years. It will live on long after I've gone.morning, not boring at all, especially the well known litany how I miss that. have offered to donate the last of the ginger ninja's stuff to DS pony .... it's silly it being in a box but I am not sure I want people to use his head collar, favourite rug (the first one I ever bought the darling but certainly not the last!) even if it is my sister! Odd what we get attached to really isn't it.
It's not odd. I could never get rid of the Captain's red sheep pyjamas, even though it doesn't fit him anymore. He used to look so cute in it....Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Quite right Lam, it makes a toffee type topping, in fact, it's a little like a tarte tatin or upside cake really.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

When the vet said that colin was getting fat he made the suggestion that rather than me feeding colin, that colin should get some exercise and feed himself. Meaning that colin should hunt his own food namely mice
If his hunting skills are based on his playing any mouse should expect to be batted a few feet with a paw, then wait while colin reverses and sits on them.
Quite obviously, the cat has taken the vet's comments on board and is sorting out his own meals.
Colin has learned to open the fridge...
This morning when I came downstairs the fridge door was open and the cheese chewed, the creme fraiche open and spilled across the floor and the shelves all skewed.
I thought perhaps I hadn't closed the door properly? Cleared it all up and managed to give a very stern look to the smug cat sitting by his empty bowl. Went to do some chores, heard a lot of noise coming from the kitchen and arrived to see the cat on his back with paws under the door, opening the fridge
The fridge now has the bin in front of it!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I hope the vet didn't tell Colin about catching his own supper. Tonight my naughty tortie has trotted in through the catflap with mouse in mouth. I went to grab her and she went out into the conservatory and let the mouse go. Mouse promptly scurried off under the sofa. There are no lights there and I just know that I will be woken tonight with growling and mouse chasing in the hallway. I hate that about cats (and mine are prolific hunters). I think the mole behind the dressing table was the worst!! But, don't tell Colin about that sort of thing. Also, catching their own supper means regular worming pills so more expense.
Thanks for the toffee apple lemon cake. I'm going to try that when I get some eggs. As others have said, your recipes are amazing.
