Well done on sales, re the other bits before chucking try a horsey car boot or sale at your yard, usually shift stuff even if for 50p and the like.
I think I have run out of things to sell without now selling my crystal glasses or things I actually use now!

I use my best wine glasses too, no point in having them for whenever!

A batch of leek and potato soup is bubbling away on the hob, the potatoes looked very sad indeed, but once peeled were fine. I think they were a day away from the bin! Fresh bread from the bread-maker. Lunch is sorted for three days.

I've had a payrise of 20p an hour, due to being an excellent employee, it's not really going to make a difference to my life, but there again, I'm not turning it down either.

The sun is shining so I'll rake some leaves and plant back the bulbs that Colin has played football with.

I also must write two letters and get them posted, set up November's spreadsheet and do October's filing.

I'm in love with my throw, it's going to save on heating [I hope] as I only needed the heating on for an hour to take the chill off the house, and dry the socks. It's wonderfully snuggly, as I suspected the cat thinks I bought it for him...

All I need to buy today is milk, I'm determined to last until Wednesday without food shopping. Tonight's culinary masterpiece will be pasta in homemade tomato sauce with basil and Parmesan.

    Hi Piq

    Throw sounds really cosy.

:T for being an excellent employee - its a pity that 20p couldnt be £20 but I suppose its recognition for your hard work.

    Keep warm x

The soup was lush. I took a portion for lunch to the yard and had to watch while everyone tasted it, as it smelled so good heating up, and only got a couple of mouthfuls myself...

It was only an onion, garlic, tin of tomatoes and the basil that now resides on top of the kitchen bookcase where Colin can't get it! I think it tastes good because I cook it very gently and let the flavours develop.

Hope today goes well for you taxi

I had a quick tidy of the larder cupboard today and found I had several packets of the same thing open, meaning I had a mission to use them up. A miserable day outside means baking is a pleasure. Banana bread, being paid in bananas again :D and a quarter of a packet of sultanas soaked in marsala wine. Hobnobs, using the small amount of golden castor sugar and oats. Finally walnut and apricot biscotti to use up the half packet of nuts and the very dried up dried apricots!

    The house smells lovely....

The filing is outstanding from yesterday :o but it was a NSD. I have managed to get to today without buying any groceries, I will have to go later though, no milk, eggs, butter or veg. Also the rate Colin is going through his food - no cat food either
