Also well done on the admin stuff0

Well done on the admin and ebay sales. You can get windoe kits from Wilkinsons, we've used it in the past and it does work. Easier to do if 2 of you are doing it. Also we learned to keep the moggy away as they do put claw marks in. If that happens just put some sellotape over the holes.

Wow, well done on the ebay sales, that's a good return. It takes SO long to list a pile of stuff and it's depressing if it only sells for 99p per item.
My nearest Tesc0 don't have any objection to customers taking the bubble wrap in the display boxes of fruit and veg, I just pick up a few from the empty boxes and drop them in my trolley, then into my bags when packing at the checkout. I've never been challenged and I always have them on full view in the trolley. They're not big sheets but just the right size for my funny bedroom windows. I don't use tape, just mist the glass with water, or wipe a wettish sponge across it, then smooth the bubble wrap over the glass with the bubble side against the glass, and if a corner drops down occasionally during the winter, just wet that bit of glass and smooth it back into place. It does reduce the light a little, and of course you can't look through the window, but I'm out all day, all winter, and it really doesn't bother me. I just cover the glass, the window catch can still be opened if necessary, though I wonder if covering the whole frame, handles and all, would be even more effective? Tape would be needed to do that. Also I tuck sheets of cardboard, wrapped in foil, behind all the radiators on outside walls. You can get padded foil windscreen sunshades in £land that would probably do the trick but we use loads of cardboard boxes at work so I just brought some old ones home. I'm vaguely planning cardboard window blinds, covered with bubble wrap and/or fleece, and possibly window quilts hung from garden canes suspended on cup hooks, but I need a few spare hours to get on with it.
The cling film window kits were too fiddly for my clumsy fingers, it crumpled and tore when I tried it a few years ago. Must be easier with two people but my DDs don't support my efforts to reduce heat loss!
The forecast is for a cold weekend but this misty, damp weather is horrid. October is too early to be floundering about in mud. Our Welsh Ds don't have much feather but their socks were grey-clay-plastered tonight, I think someone might have been shooting nearby as the girls have clearly been charging around the paddock and made a real mess of it.
Hope it's a bright weekend to tidy up the field and plant bulbs. Must look for some special offers as it's nearing the end of the planting season, and see if the garden centre has any pinks - Piq, you have piqued my interest in these lovely-sounding scented plants.

Here is Doris, it's the pink my mum gave me, it's an old fashioned dianthus and has the most heavenly scent in the summer. In the language of flowers it means 'I'll never forget you' Hence why it is planted near the Bear.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Good morning on a frosty Sunday!
I wasn't expecting it to be this cold.... and yes, the heating is on! Although I'm still in bed waiting for the house to warm up a bit first.
I rushed round the garden bringing in my tender plants yesterday evening, I really want to save some of them until next year. I've set up an area in the back bedroom for them. I'll trim them back properly later.
I have a heated throw!!! It's wonderful, I used it last night and found I could turn the heating off an hour or so before bedtime. Thank you for the Lidl information - highly recommended
I have learned my lesson on the hot water bottle front - make two. One for me and one for him....
A couple of NSDs under my belt, I won't need to buy any more groceries until at least Wednesday, even have enough carrots for the Captain.
Today DS1's girlfriend is coming to do Captain chores, she volunteered, and if she's feeling brave enough, ride him. With any luck we can send DS1 off to buy soup and sandwichesTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Great news on the eb@y sales. Nice one. Wish my tat would shift on the local site. I guess I am setting the price to high....

My sales were horse bits and pieces, not bits of the horse, you understand :rotfl:They sell well, but are not a never-ending commodityI've only a few more bits of unnecessary paraphernalia left, including the non-payer item.
Most bits I put on are 99p bits of tat which cause zero interest and eventually hit the bin!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I'll be working later today so I need to get going! I'm sorting out my mortgage claim for the month and will get that posted on the way to work. Hopefully, it will go through this month without any shenanigans. I also want to knock up a quick letter to the endowment people. I've realised that I haven't told them about my change of name so need to send a copy of a certificate off. Then I can get on with my mis-selling claim.
I want to go out and rake up leaves, but mustn't.....Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
