Good luck in the interview Piq, you'll ace it. Just have to think of an example for each competency and way to go. My 1st competency based interview went so well I got offered the job of the guy who was interviewing me because he was being promoted.
Glad Pr£t went well and yey to dad getting free coffee - now that is a good staff perk, being able to treat your dear dad
Double yey to the herbs and glad to see you accepted them and didn't throw them straight back at him. I'd think of them as sweet revenge every time I saw them.
Carp re the 15hrs 59mins but I'm sure your new boss will be accommodating. Mad rule but as someone else said, they've got to draw the line somewhere I suppose.
Anyway, talk again soon and I'll come bearing gifts next time, I did after all see the not so subtle hint.

 Hello Poppy, fancy seeing you over here :rotfl:.
:hello: Hello back!! Funny how you bump into people across the boards ~ I recognise a few names here!! :rotfl:If I'm offered the job I will accept. I need an income that covers the bills, the remaining debt and most importantly the Captain and the Bear. If I could get a well paid job I'd be able to clear the debt, get some savings in case I'm without work again, then I could concentrate on what I want to do when I have a little more financial security. It's not ideal, but I must be practical.
And sensible. Lovely that you class the Captain and the Bear as the most important things ~ that made me smileSincerely hope you get the job on Tuesday ~ fingers crossed.

Fantastic to read that things are on the up and up, told you so
Fingers crossed for the interview on Tuesday, although you'll know doubt wow them with all your fantastic knowledge about everything and entertain them as you do us.
Wish i had something funny to tell you but husbandpet has been too blooming lovely to cause me any anguish just happy tears and joy. A bit of background about me I have a disability that can make me rather tired so holding down a fulltime job and trying to keep the house tidy is just too much of a struggle, I've also stayed in the UK to be with him but obviously miss my family immensely especially my big sister.
Anyway on Saturday he was at work and I had a phone call from Mum and Dad just to catch up and discuss our holiday in a couple of months etc managed not to cry as too happy that we're going to be there on the 18 August, however my sister then sent me a video of her 3 kids (8, 6 and 2.5) who were singing and dancing to a song which left me in floods of tears and didn't get any better after he'd come home. So once again I'm in floods of tears telling him that I'm just sick of living in a messy house that's falling to bits (rented landlord sucks a*rse) and just feeling overwhelmed with it all. His reaction was that he only expects me to wash, dry and put away the clothes and to take care of myself. If I feel up to doing more then to do so but not too much that it knackers me out. This makes me feel a lot better obviously and so grateful that I managed to find a decent bloke who knows how to treat a woman that can break easily (mentally and physically :rotfl:), he even cooks
Now that I've shown off that my husbandpet is a complete :A most of the time (maybe it's because he's a geek  :rotfl:, I'll now stop and let you try to do the longest post however I might have just won

G'day dear one
It's a wonderful thing to be happy and to have lots of people to love, you are blessed and I'm very happy for you too.
I don't think I'll do very well at the interview it's a competency based interview and it's a government type company. I've never done that sort of interview, they'll be doing check-lists and I've never worked for the public sector either. I'm not feeling at all confident about it.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I've done a couple of competency based interviews, they aren't so bad. You just need to demonstrate the criteria they set. So... 'How have you demonstrated to other staff lacking in confidence how to be more assertive?'.... 'I told boss at garden centre to stick his job where the sun doesnt shine'... :rotfl::rotfl: Jobe done!
Wondering what on earth to wear... my current and last place were very casual dress-wise, dont have suits and boots!0
