hey!
sorry i deserted you for a bit!
this could be your tipping point work coming out your ears! :-)
Glad you're back! I will be popping over to see what you've been up to shortly. I expect a clean and tidy diary!Ermmm, hello there ????
I've been following your diary since the start back in February but have always been a day or two behind and never quite managed to 'jump in' at the right time - takes me right back to how I felt about escalators when I was 4 or 5 years old (a long, long time ago!).
You have made me laugh out loud and cry (metaphorically) in frustration for you at times. I am so proud of what you have and are achieving and I am nearly ready to start my own diary after seeing how all yours are spurring me on (....that escalator thing again.....).
Another animal love here, although I only have cats at the moment - Ethel had kittens eight weeks ago and we have re-homed two of the three, with our new addition, Smudge remaining. Bruce is almost one, but has a factor 11 clotting disorder (like haemophillia but milder) which means he is not very MSE but we would never be without him.
Sorry, boring myself now so will stop there....
Kirstie
Hello and welcome, I'm glad you've jumped in! No escalators here, no money for maintenance....
I'll be straight over to your diary when it starts, I will expect a signed copy! I like to make people laugh, the diary gives me a chance to be myself, warts and all in a way I couldn't if I wasn't anonymous. Although I now know a few people who live on here with me!
Kittens....:heartsmil:heartsmil I'd love one or two. I've never had a kitten. I've always re-homed adult cats. Bless Bruce, how lucky he is to have you looking after him and to have his forever home.
I hope you're going to stick around. If you've been here since February you'll know of the rule I made about not being able to lurk again.

Morning P and Friends
Sorry not been here for a few days but looks like things have def improved a bit. Good luck on the job applications. Nice one that you get free coffee and food
I think cats are just trying to prove to dogs that they too can roll in smelly stuff or maybe he is sending the fox a message 'I aint scared of you Mr Fox - look I will even roll in your poo!'
Hope Captain is well. I had a small accident over the weekend involving another horse and a gate whilst trying to bring mine in and now I am hobbling with a fat ankle and bruising from my calf to my toes
Enjoy the rest of the week xx
Ouch....I've done the leg being left behind in the gate thing, very painful. My other horse Bertie, never used to wait for the gate to open wide enough for both of us to fit through. He was a bit like Dylan from the Magic Roundabout, very laid back!
The vet seemed to think it might be fox pooh, apparently cats like to roll in it  Next time I'm just going to Febreeze him and be done with it :rotfl:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Has everybody met hampster? He is a vintage friend from my old diary. He will not be at all phased by bra talk! Clever hampster is all de-debted and now a free spirit.
Once you've got over your bra moment, come back and enjoy a bevy of wonderful friends and copious amounts of virtual wine and chocolate if granny has anything to do with it!

Good luck for the interview on Tuesday, Piq :j
This probably sounds like a daft question (but I'll ask it anyway) ~ will you accept if you're offered the job?? Is it really what you're after, iyswim??
Anyway, fab that you've been offered an interview, that must have given you a real boost
Lol at the herbs peace-offering ~ was there no humble pie to accompany it??'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
I think from what I've read about your ex boss this would've maybe taken a lot of guts for him to do that? Hats off to him for trying to make amends.
If it was fox poo tomato sauce liberally applied is supposed to work as well.
Good luck for the interview.

 Hello Poppy, fancy seeing you over here :rotfl:.
Hi Piq, glad the Pr*t trial went well - I get the impression they are quite regimented, as you say, particularly at lunchtimes to keep the queues moving - is that right? I'm always impressed by how quickly people are served even when it seems like the queue is out the door it soon melts away. The staff seem to get on well and support one another working as a team.
Anyhoo what a daft rule re 15 hrs and 59 mins - suppose the line has to be drawn somewhere though? Hope the manager is understanding. How funny that your old boss came bearing gifts - stupid man, too late now. Your plants sound lovely, I've got some to put in pots but the weathers been so bad here I haven't had the chance yet.
I didn't know that about cats and fox poo - this thread is a mine of info :rotfl:. Mr A is going for his jags on Saturday - haven't told him yet!0 -

No humble pie, I must have given him a shock standing my ground, everyone else treats him as a demi-god!
If I'm offered the job I will accept. I need an income that covers the bills, the remaining debt and most importantly the Captain and the Bear. If I could get a well paid job I'd be able to clear the debt, get some savings in case I'm without work again, then I could concentrate on what I want to do when I have a little more financial security. It's not ideal, but I must be practical.
Anyhoo, I have to get the job first, the interview is going to be competency based, I'm going to have to do a lot of research as I've never done one before.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Tomato sauce???? How would that work? I can't imagine the Bear would think a lot of that, still it would smell better than the pooh!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

They are very regimented every customer has to be served in a minute, even the coffee has a measurement standard. But the staff are very happy and supportive.
I've planted the herbs in the herb garden and they do look nice, I love my herb garden. I also planted a supermarket basil plant out there, they do quite well in the summer. I spray sage leaves with oil, quickly fry them until crispy and sprinkle them on butternut squash risotto, they're amazing! I might treat myself to another thyme plant and plant it in the old broken watering can, it looks lovely cascading down the can. Or maybe a miniature orange trailing petunia, that would look nice against the grey, they only cost about £1.25 and I did get an interview....
