I passed in 2002. I got 45/50 on the car. I did the motorcycle one recently (which I dont have a license for, but intend to) and passed that one too - can't remember the figures though..

I did my theory test back 1988 (not in england), and now I got 44 right. The arm signs were the ones that threw me, hehe

50/50, I had my motorbike theory test about two and a half years ago and my car theory test 15 years ago, both passed first time. I would like to say I managed to get the full score because I'm a flawless driver but in reality it's because I had to memorise some of the less obvious information fo the theory test. When I was getting ready for the motorbike one I tried a couple of test quizzes before revising to see how much I remembered from the car tests, which were passes but only just. Similarly it was the crossings that caught me out (toucan = 'two can' so pedestrian and cyclist, puffin = 'pedestrian user friendly') plus some of the odd ones like remembering the colour of cat eyes separating the different lanes on a motorway.

Although some of the questions are a bit odd it's the hazard perception test I wasn't keen on, it didn't exist when I sat my first theory test so was a bit wary of it when sitting the motorbike one. To me it seems pointless as your hazard perception skills will be tested far better on the practical test and the hazard perception test seems inconsistent. A construction truck driving just ahead in the right lane was apparently not a hazard even though it cuts up the camera car you're in causing them to brake and a person walking down the pavement is a hazard even though they don't cross the road or look like they will but driving along a busy road with lots of people on the pavement, many looking like they will cross is not a hazard.

48/50 on the car theory test.

I passed my test 23 years ago and last drove Christmas 2007 when I hired a car and fetched my eldest daughter from a remote corner of Aberystwyth – driving some 105 miles each way across the frosty, foggy welsh mountains. My lovely pink driving licence pre-dates the natty photocards -meaning I am without any photo id now my passport has expired.

The 2 questions I got wrong: I mistook the solid white line at the edge of the carriageway for a (potential) cycle path; and I didn't know the first sign of a train coming- although in practice if anything starts happening at a railway crossing I'll stop. I'm amazed I got the speed limits for towing correct.

I passed my test in the early 90s, we didn't have a theory test back then. I didn't drive regularly then, but I've been driving regularly for the last ten years or so. I scored 50 out of 50 on the car test :)

49/50 on the car test, and I passed my test (on the third attempt) back in 1983 . Back then, we were just asked a few random Highway Code questions by the examiner. I had to guess a lot of the answers, but most of them seemed like the obvious choice.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
