Hi all
We've just got back from our local Aquatic shop, we went to buy more food for our fish, but ended up coming back with 6 Neons, the tank was looking a little empty. I've done 3 loads of washing, all drying on the rads as it's overcast here. I changed the sheets & cleaned the lodgers room, ready for her return tomorrow. I'm now going to clear out the study as I can't move in here for books etc, mind you study is a rather grand term for what was a downstairs loo, until hubby decided to move the loo to a large cupboard at the front of the house!
I'm glad my description of my telephone job made a few of you laugh, if I get any more funny calls I'll post the details on here.
My youngest son visited us yesterday evening, his gf came too & bought her 7 week old baby with her. She's so tiny, so cute, I gave her her bottle, winded her, she puked on my shoulder & the fell asleep in my arms for an hour. My son is very good with the baby, changing nappies etc. If their relationship continues it means I have a 2nd grandchild, lol.
It's early days, but I believe that baby's bring love with them & hubby was so thrilled with her, he offered our services as babysitters!
Hugs to those who need them.

Have just got back from the local shops, managed to resist getting another
rat as there was a very cute friendly grey and white one in the pet shop.
I have terrible fears and phobias about rats and mice, i can't bear their tails. I would rather do a bungee jump than be anywhere near a rat regardless of colour. Bye for now
Fishes eyes i can cope with, definately not a rat. I think i would need CBT to overcome this fear. Take care.Amazon No:170 -
Hello all, a bit late today. Woke up at 5.30 a.m. and read for a while and the eyes shut and ended up getting up closer to 9.30;)
Went "round town" last night with a leaving party from work, DH volunteered to drive (I did offer) but it was so LOUD:eek: Nice to see both current and previous work friends, had a lovely complement about my hair, last time she saw me I was dark, and now "blonde". Called it quits at 10.30 pm - well we had been up since 4.45 am. It was the noise more than the tiredness I think.
Went to the chemists in the village this morning to collect the rest of a prescription they didn't have enough of, but the one I went to doesn't open on a Saturday, so out of tablet until Monday  Then went to the cash machine, which was playing up - no cash
Bought some birthday cards, we too have a nice but inexpensive local card shop, got back to find DH neice had called to see us with here 7 yo and 6 mo. Lovely to see them they are both happy children, who enjoy company.
Read the thread and now debating doing some baking. Long time since I've done any so, let you know if it is a success!!:D
We have had a thing with losing family members at 84, but that is more acceptable.
(((hugs)))) all round.

Good afternoon everyone.:hello: I haven't had time to read all the posts but thanks to all and :grouphug: hugs :grouphug: to those that need them.
Done some shopping at Lidls but still need to go to Ts. I've also cleaned the oven and started to declutter the utility room.
I usually try to declutter when my dh isn't around because I guarantee that what I want to get rid of, he thinks we should keep. Unfortunately he came back from his walk just as I was getting rid of a box of magazines that must have been in that room for about 3 years. He insisted on looking through them and voila, half of them are now in the bedroom!!!!
Oh well, must get back to it.Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts - DFW Nerd 323

Hi again All
ShirleyPark - saw rats in pet shop yesterday when getting new fish. Sorry can't say I am taken with them but there again not everyone likes rabbits and hamsters as I do! How many rats do you have? I believe they do make excellent pets.
Hardup Hester - read the links etc yesterday. What a colourful life. Hope things work about with son and partner and that you can spoil that wee bundle. Friends of ours became surrogate grandparents about 3 years ago (their son and partner now have a child) and they could totally see where we came from being so wrapped up in grandparenthood for the last 4 years.
Twink - sorry it's raining in the north-east. Lovely day here in the south east! However, not that much drying for the washing.
Crazychick - sorry to hear xFIL back in hospital. Keep us informed. Hope you feel a bit brighter now. Have you managed to get a rest?
Well, DD has been on the phone 3 times today to get me to check things out on e-bay. DSIL put bids on last night too. I am seriously worried about addiction here.
Still feeling quite perky so think I have finally thrown off the dreaded lurgy. Must remember to pop another antibiotic soon. Trouble is when you start to feel better you become a bit complacent.
When tidying the airing cupboard this afternoon after shopping, discovered all the Christmas tableware in a heap in the corner! That shows you how disorganised I have been since then. However, now washed and out on line. A bit bizarre Christmas tablecloth and napkins on the line mid February!!
My Mum and sister are due to arrive shortly - they are staying the night. It took me 2 days through the week to change the spare beds I was feeling so 'wabbit' as we say here in Scotland. I have taken HM soup out of freezer and they are bringing the main course. Might manage my first G+T for a fortnight tonight!
Love and hugs to those I have mentioned and everyone else.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

Hello again,
An update from the house of chickadee. Our patio is positively gleaming! I hadn't realised just how grimy and full of algae flags get. I don't ever remember seeing them as clean as they are now! It is very satisfying.
I have also hung a load of washing on the line. It is quite warm here today so I thought it would be worth hanging it up for an hour or two to take some of the dampness out of it, then onto a radiator I think.
Feeling rather smug as we have done the patio, a couple of loads of washing, put BM on, to be ready in a couple of hours, cleaned out guinea pigs and sorted out some old tins of paint to take to the tip tomorrow. We didn't manage to clean out the shed and it smells of mice but I think we'll get round to that tomorrow.
A no spend day too which is always good.

Cooltrickerchick - sounds like a very productive and satisfying day and maybe the aches and pains worth it. My garden (my post this morning) is feeling so sad. I can't remember last time I left it so long. Hopefully I will get out there soon and fill my brown recycling bin! Maybe you should do a streak and see what reaction you get! Post the results here!!!!
I just love this board. If I am feeling down then there are folk who make me smile and then there are those of you who make me so appreciate what I do have in my life and I should be thankful.
Just about to wash DH's dressing gown as he is away. I discovered only recently he has been having far too many goonie days while I was at work. It's amazing what being off ill reveals!
Had misplaced a load of my favourite tops earlier today (discovered when putting ironing away this morning). Was in a real quandry and have been opening and closing drawers off and on all day. Discovered them about half an hour ago when putting DH's ironing away - they were in one of his drawers. All I can say is a very senior moment when I wasn't well!! Thank goodness and can now relax before imminent arrival of sister and Mum!

Hi everyone.
Not done much today. The weather here has been quite good so the kids have been playing out on their bikes for most of the afternoon.
I went in the loft before and dug out some old books, dusted them off and plan to try to sell them on ebay.
I'm off now to make a veg spag bol for tea and plan to have another quiet night in front of the tv.
Have a good evening.0
