    Morning all!
Hugs to those who need 'em & get well wishes to anyone a bit under the weather too

Had great plans to tackle the mountains of washing up & washing & then spruce the bathroom but the drain is blocked so the washing machine has emptied its self all over the patio. Had a bit of a dig around in there to unblock but no joy:confused: Still ds has just got up to I will get him to give me a hand - hopefully we can get it sorted & I can be back on track by time hubby get home from work!

(edit 11:11am - all done! washing machine back on & about to wash-up! - it was leaves by the look of things so will have to try to find some kind of cover for it - bit of wire mesh will have to do for now!)

  • Morning all, nice sunny day here, have got to do a load of washing so might try and dry it on the line.

Not much planned today. Have indulged in a nice cooked breakfast and lots of coffee (had a bad night's sleep  ), read the papers and am now about to do the aforementioned washing and try and tidy up the utility room a bit. Need to put a loaf in the BM too.

Not good news on the vet front :( little cat has been diagnosed with overactive thyroid so it's tablets twice a day for her from now on  , at a cost of £34 a month, plus £50 for blood tests every month or so :( Guess I won't be giving up my horrible day job for a while then..

Have a nice relaxing weekend, all

    Hi everyone,

Al lazy child-free weekend here (they are both with respective alternate parents), so we went out for a curry last night. I don't know why we ordered so much food! However, it was extremely tasty and we had brilliant service. It was just a small restaurant within walking distance of our home, a little gem of a place.

Plans for today include getting the garden straight and power-washing the patio flags. We also need to de-clutter the shed so we can actually move in there, so a trip to the tip will undoubtedly be in order at some point.

We exchanged Valentine gifts last night, as OH was away on Wednesday. I received some fab new walking poles, which will have their first outing tomorrow to Ullswater so I'll test them out. I bought OH a Powerball (best price I could find of course, from Play.com) and we had such a laugh with it last night. It is a kind of gyroscope thingy that you try to get spinning really fast and when you do it's hard to keep hold of. A boy toy, of course! We both have aching forearms and blisters on our fingers this morning :o

Right, another coffee I think and then on with the wellies.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all

Most days by the time I get on here there are so many posts that I feel like I just can't catch up, but today it's not so bad, so here I am!

Nothing much happening, but there never is here.

Reading about people dying from cancer in their 50s, my Mum died from it at 55 and I'm 55 this year. I know it doesn't work like that but I can't help having it at the back of my mind.

I know what you mean Pollybear!

My dad is currently 53 - sorry to make some of you feel old :o - and my granddad (his dad) died of a heart attack at 59. My granddad's dad ALSO died of a heart attack at 59, and my dad's aunt died of cancer at 59. It's become a bit of a family joke (IYKWIM) that my dad is going to die at 59, but seriously I really hope he doesn't! :o I think he has a healthier lifestyle than his dad, granddad or aunt (I think they all smoked, and although Dad used to smoke a pipe that was years ago and he doesn't smoke any more) so here's hoping eh!?

FF sorry to hear about the cat, I am guessing it's not insured, have you tried somewhere like this for medication http://www.vetuk.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=21 or http://www.nutrecare.co.uk/company.asp?ID=70 I know a lot same money on prescription vets meds by not buying from the vet and using sites like that.Thankfully not something I have needed yet but have seen it mentioned before.

 DPs Mam has borrowed his satnav system, meaning I have spent the last 20 mins relaying directions over the phone for places, wish he'd tell her to buy her own  he knows he needs it when he's at work, someone always needs to go somewhere in the middle of nowhere he's never been before!

Puppy now irritating me by growling at the lizard as he's having a run around his vivarium. They are both nose to nose through the lass, lizards puffed himself up into attack mode :rotfl: best not open the tank door
One day I might be more organised...........

    Good morning everyone.:hello:

Well I am late today:whistle: OH has let me have a very much appreciated lie in and so after I finish this coffee I need to get a hoof on.
The 2 eldest are busily stripping their beds for me to wash and get hung out in this lovely sunshine and then I will let them choose which covers they want for this week.
Plans today are to strip the beds, clean the house, do the washing (about 3 loads) and hang out, go to Lidl for their half price fruit and veg, go to the beach for an hour with the kids, I must be home for 4 o clock for the Tesco shop.
We have some old apples and blackberries in the freezer so OH plans to make an apple struddle type thing with them and the kids are asking for a chocolate cake.

  • Hugs to those of you in need today.

Have just got back from the local shops, managed to resist getting another rat as there was a very cute friendly grey and white one in the pet shop. Got another Alistair Maclean book for my BF for the grand sum of 99p in a charity shop, he's doing well this week for books, I got 6 Alistair Maclean books for him from freecycle earlier in the week. Plus I bought 2 white climbing roses from Poundland, to go with the one that I planted last year.

I tried to get some flowers so I can take some photos for my mum's mothers day card, but neither the flourist or Sainsburys had any that I liked. Oh well atleast there's a few more weeks, worse case I can use one of the photos I took last year.

Time to put the washing on.
