OS Daily Thread Saturday 17th Feb 2007

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for saturday 17th 2007 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Good morning everyone, I have been to bed honest.I went at 11pm and woke at 1am. I couldnt sleep due to worry about my car and the financial implications of it.(Anyone know where i can get another car free?:rotfl: ) I got up to get a drink and then thought i would see if anyone had started todays thread.I hope i havent cross posted.I know i will be extremely tired later so will try again to get a few more hours.I didnt come on yesterdays thread so still need to catch up and hope to do that later if i can. I hope to take the children swimming later and also get some groceries, plus the usual mountains of washing.Anyway will pop in later to say hello again. Hugs to those in need of one,Happy saturday,Love Elaine

Good Morning Elaine & Blairweech and all that follow

Elaine - when you do find your free car - let me know please!

Another one here having probems sleeping. I have been to bed but just tossed n turned. After yesterdays saga with my OH's ex business. I know I shouldn't worry, as really "deep down" its not my problem! But I always said I will support OH what ever he decides. And I will! Here's hoping things will calm down, after all nothing can be done untill he's seen a solicitor. My heart goes out for his son!

My back's starting to hurt also, so Ive come down to take some pain killers.

OH & DS are off to the football today (Notts County), OH's parents are season ticket holders, and they are on holiday on at the mo, and left the tickets out for us to use. This will be the 3rd time DS has gone, and really enjoy's it, 'cause he gets to go in the players lounge afterwards. And meets the players!

DD will be with her dad, so I think a lazy afternoon is in order. However, I wish to visit the Next Clearance store at some point and stock up on tops for work. Mine are starting to look boring & shabby now! Even though I do mix n match, they dont look any better.

Right, goin to make a brew now
Take care all - have a great weekend
    Love as usual

    Good morning everyone

Meeting at school went "ok". School say they are not overly worried and this is the end of it. Can't help but be slightly paranoid and think the school believe we were slightly ignoring the problem (although we were unaware of it).

Working today 8am until 1pm. Thinking this afternoon might go into Glasgow or Edinburgh for some dinner and drinks. Will decide when I get home from work.

Well must go and find some food to take to work.

    Have a great Saturday :D

Morning. Got up early as I had fondue last night and I don't think it agreed with me... Nice evening with friends though. Looks like a wet day and not much to do. Need to avoid shopping as the family budget is a bit tight at the moment. The kids are sleeping at church tonight as they have started a 24 hour fast to raise money for a famine project. So we have the house almost to ourselves again.
    Have a nice one everyone

I don't usually post on the daily but as DS1 has decided to get up at silly o'clock I thought I would make the most of it and have a mooch on here;)

I am so cold, our heating has packed up again  This is the second time in as many months, I've rang the emergency repairs dept at the council but surprise, surprise they havn't returned my call. Luckily I have an old hot air heater blaring out in the living room so it takes the edge of it but I dread to think what its doing to my leccy bill:eek:

Tesco delivery is due between 9 - 11. I've been sooooo good the last 2 weeks with meal planning and have got our bill down to 60 a week including nappies & formula:T

    Have a good day all.

Good luck with the job tired mum. I know what you mean about meaning to keep in touch and not, there's lots of people that I keep meaning to speak to / write to and never get round to it.

Today is catchup day on the housework, I've been a little lazy these past couple of days. Also need to go to the post office, so I'll probably take a look in the charity shops on the way up there, never know what I might find, and maybe the library as well.

    Have a great day everyone.

  • Hi, all OSers!

DH has taken small Penguins to swim club, so I'm here with a mountain of ironing, and the last 2 episodes of 5 Days on video.

Had a great day out yesterday. Went to the York Dungeon - brilliant attraction :T . We paid with Tesco tokens. It cost £37 and I gave £40 in tokens, accepting that they give no change. However, the assistant insisted that we take £3-worth of chocolate to make up the difference. As these £40 of tokens only *cost* me £10, that was a bargain :T :T And I still have the chocolate in my bag for later :D;)

Bought a sequined bag reduce from £40 to £5 - DH said *that's very trendy* What does he mean by that :p

Went to *Bella Italia* with Tesco tokens too. Really pushed the boat out, and all I can taste this morning is garlic  That was a lovely meal.

Off to tackle K2 - have a Stupendous Saturday!

Elaine - have you tried Freecycle for a car? Seriously - they come up quite often here.

Crazychick - haven't read yesterday's thread, but ((((hugs)))) to you and your family. We have friends who are big Notts County fans - they'll be there today, too!

Tired Mum - ((((hugs)))) to you too. What a shock. Best of luck in getting your job back.

    Morning all

Very quiet here this morning - DD's staying with my parents for a couple of days - bliss!

DH had a half day yesterday so we had a wander round a few shops (didn't spend anything :T ) Then came home to watch a dvd and ordered a chinese(:o ) Was lovely - it's such a treat nowadays that we really enjoy it.

Off to get DH's hair cut this morning then we're off to the cinema this afternoon and back home for tea. Not at all OS as I've bought fresh pasta and a lovely fresh cheese sauce but sometimes these things have to be done.

Off to run a hoover round and open some windows to air the place...

Hope you all have a great day.
