Yes i work for British Gas...but this is my own opinion..and is not in any way the opion of my company, other staff, directors etc..
An artical was placed in a major newspaper a few months ago, about a letter that was sent from USwitch to the Chairman of BG, basicly stating that if British Gas did not did not join USwitch and pay them millions in commission that they would take away BG customer by the handful.. < not exact quote > but thats what was published in major newspapers.. and funny enough British Gas never appears on there good listings unless you are very specific in you figures...usualy last time I looked we were in the top 3
I would not trust any company that takes days to update there prices, and charges the company commision for new customers..You would care to note that the info you get on there site as well, does not usualy match what you get when you join the new company! I know I had it done to me.Hey folks...remember I might work for the company but I am a human and working in my own time, I will not responde to people who are rude, sarcy and crits me. My views and comments do not reflect British Gas and they are totally unreasponsable for my responses.0 -
I've never liked uScam, even from their onset they were just out to scam 'commission' from sales. Their only interest is to make money, not to save anyone else money. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

Forgive me if this is the wrong place but I'm a newbie to posting here.
I wondered if anyone could help or advise please???
I've been with npower since the early 90's when we moved here. 5 years ago we were 'cold called' on by one of their representatives offering a 5 year tie in and a good deal per kw on electricity so we signed up. Since then all our bills have come via npower business. Early in the contract we made numerous attempts to amend billing to domestic but after continuous fails we gave up and just paid the bills as they arrived. Now that the 5 year term is due to expire next month we have had renewal notices with huge price increase and shopping around we have found better deals eleswhere. Having tried to renegotiate and then to leave npower we are now told that we had to give npower 90 days notice prior to renewal date and that because we have not then we are tied in to them until at least November 2008 and cannot switch suppliers.
Does anyone know if there is some get out or redress for me. Of course npower are refusing to budge an inch
Thanks for reading

Hi,
At present I am with E.ON Payment Protection May 2012, works out about £1.076 per year.
I have looked at the comparison sites, the cheapest for all of them is Scottish Power 'Online Energy Reward' at £692 per annum fixed until July 2011. In fact out of 76 plans 63 were cheaper.
That is quite a saving and I am tempted, but what happens in July 2011, will I be able to jump on another deal better than the E.ON one? Or will I be left with big price hikes in 2011?
Is it just a risk I have to take? Also I couldn't see any capped or fixed prices that went past 2011 (apart from the one I have). Are there any at the moment that extend for further?
Thank you for any comments in advance.0 -

EDF have a fixed price to 2015 tariff, but it is very expensive.
Nobody knows what will happen in July 2011 and, as ever, any fixed/capped price tariff is a gamble.
However, if your figures are correct, you will save approx £450(less any penalty for early exit*) by July 2011.
Therefore by July 2011 even prices for all other tariffs have doubled to £1384(£692 x 2) you will not pay more than the £450 you will have already saved, in the 10 months to May 2012.
In my opinion it is a no contest - you switch!
* you can normally offset the exit penalty by getting cashback for switching.0 -

I have telephoned E.ON and switched to E.ON FixOnline v8. It is the third cheapest at £780 per annum. It doesn't go up or down, and you manage the account online.
I have been told my direct debit will now be £65 instead of £89, whereas it used to be £60. Just praying for a milder winter.

I am in the process of changing energy supplier(s). I did this through Uswitch. I requested to change gas from Scottish power (I was on gas and electricity with them). They switched both fuels. They admitted their mistake but refused to do anything about it so I have to sort in myself. Recommend you have nothing to do with Uswitch.
As for Scottish power their bills do not conform to statutory recommendations - no wonder the came lowest in a recent survey by Consumer Direct (soon to be scrapped by the Government)0 -
Basically NPower should have installed a new gas meter to a house my freind and her family have moved into. They have promised on 3 different occasions that there would be Gas to the propety before xmas. This is not the case and the latest date she has been given is 31 December. She has been on the phone to them (when she can get through) every day for 3 weeks trying to sort this out but to no avail. The whole family are having to use freinds and family for baths /showers and the only heating they have are some electric fan heaters borrowed from freinds.Xmas this year for the family and the 2 boys will be at freinds .
N powers responce to the matter has been to offer £70 compensation,
Anybody think this is a fair offer? Who should she contact? ,what can she do?
TIA
