    Good Morning :)

LC - I hope you have a great day, just relax and enjoy the time with your friends. It's priceless and you deserve it. Be kind to yourself. :)
Wannabee - Stop being so hard on yourself. At least now you are aware of how much you are spending unlike before your MSE ways. You're doing so well, you just don't realise it but one day it will all make perfect sense. :)

Well, I did it :j I managed a purple week for this challenge. Only trouble is I spent that much cash out of other budgets it just doesn't feel like it :(

    Sunday - NSD :)
    Monday - NSD :)
Tuesday - NSD :) (for this budget)
    Wednesday - NSD :)
    Thursday - NSD :)

    Friday - NSD :)

    £0/£5

Saturday is usually my spendy day but as I am full of the cold and it is pouring down and blowing a gale outside, I think I am going to give my trek down the local High Street a miss this week. I'll have to wait until later though to see what my shopping buddy wants to do. Here's hoping she's in agreement :)

    Have a great Saturday x x

    Morning all

Declaring a green week, only just, i think by pennies. Can't remember at mo and havent got my purse to hand. ETA - (17p left) £22.83/ £23

LC - Have a lovely day. at least it is a planned spendy day and not something that has come as a surprise so you've been able to budget for it. I'm sure you'll feel better once you are out and relaxing with your friends.

wannabee - i am sure it has been a spendy week for a lot of people what with Valentines day and half term, i guess its how you/ we carry on and not let it affect the rest of the month as it would have done pre MSE. i know once i started spending i couldnt stop. Be positive. We are all here to help each other along the way. :D

freebyfifty - well done on the purple week. :j

I am aiming for [STRIKE]£5[/STRIKE] next week as i only have £15 left in my account until 29th Feb and not completely sure when i am getting paid. I am out for tea on Monday but am hoping my Mr T vouchers will arrive in time to pay for that, then minimal spends for the rest of the week.
ETA again - please make my next week spends £15 just been invited to the cinema tomorrow night. Will have to hope that i either get paid on 27th or have three days of NSD before pay day.

    Have a good weekend all.

    Hey All!

Declaring an orange week I think... spent £10.64/£10.00 but made £51.49 from selling some DVDs/CDs, which puts me at a profit of erm...

    £50.85!!!

    :D

This month have been trying to recover from overspending last year and get my budget on an even keel. I still have some outgoings... and have worked out that I can spend £5.00 this next week. I am expecting a few more incoming payments but don't know when they will arrive so won't include them. Am off on holiday all week so this is going to be quite a challenge!!! How am I going to keep occupied and resist spending!!!???

So next week's challenge is £5.00!

  • Hi Ladies, first time poster here! I need to seriously curb my spending, have already started to make dents on my credit cards etc, but it's the day to day things that I need to watch! Could I please put down for £10.00? (I presume this amount doesn't include bills, fuel etc, just frivolous items?)

Looking forward to having a bit of extra cash in the bank!

  • Welcome Anitalouisa

LC will be along probably tomorrow to set up the new thread, she will put a link on here.

You can come on regularly to update us on what you are spending/ not spending or just at the end of the week. I update a lot as it keeps me on the straight and narrow and it makes me really think about what i am spending.

    Good luck

  • Thanks for your kind words everyone - I do admit that I'm my own worst enemy for giving myself a hard time. I did enjoy my week off by the end of the week and feel a bit miserable at the thought of going back next week.
I do have one more night out tonight - OH and I are going out for dinner and drinks, hopefully that won't cost too much.

    Hellooooooo everyone!

    Firstly, new thread HERE!

Secondly, welcome Anitalouisa! You'll see I've included you in the new thread. Good luck with the challenge, and feel free to update us as much as you like! We're a friendly bunch! :A

The spa day yesterday was lovely, thank you everyone for the words of encouragement. There were a couple of blips with the food etc and in the end we did have to make a complaint, but overall, the customer service was fantastic, the place was lovely, and the bride to be had a fantastic time! I now have toenails the colour of a shallow tropical sea, which is delightful as it means when I look at my feet I can imagine myself on Grand Cayman... :rotfl: :D :j

Hehe, anyway, did 70 miles yesterday after all the running about, spent around £100 as predicted (thank goodness I had £88 set aside - have raided all other budgets to make up the rest as need to pay a little bit back into my bank for my phone bill at the end of the month)! The Indian meal was DELICIOUS too! So overall, a really lovely, one-off experience (although some of the girls have decided we should have a treat day every few months - not like an organised day liek that, but a day where a few of us get treatments done etc. I'm up for it as long as I don't have to have a massage or facial! Mani and Pedi all the way for me please! :rotfl:

Still working out the pennies I have left this month... not too many of them I must say! Slightly concerned about petrol - I won't know if I'm working the rest of next week until after tomorrow, which is the last day of my second week signed off. Dr is calling me to discuss way forward. Trouble is, I think whether I'm at work or home I'm going to feel pretty much the same, so am dubious of benefit of being signed off!!!

Anyway, will worry about that later, I have enough money put aside to see through assuming I AM working - just slightly less in the car than I'd hoped, so it will impact on next month. Am going to sis's house this avo (an unusual occurence) and we're just going to chill and watch films. I am rather looking forward to it, so just trying to do a whole week's worth of washing etc in one morning so I can leave soon after lunch! Need to be able to hang stuff to dry before I go though!

What a long post... see you on the new thread...

  • Hi All and welcome to the newbies :hello:- and glad to see you had a good time LC:)

Never thought I would say this, but I am FED UP of spending money!!!!! :D Am way over my £50 budget and come in at £179.77 so £129.77 over budget.:eek::eek:

It was my DDs birthday on Friday so didn't work that day (am self employed) so if you also take into account the money I didn't make and also OH could have done an overtime shift, but didn't as we were going out for dinner with DD, her friends and our friends so money lost there too! :D Can't think about that tho as DD had a lovely day and that is more important than money. It's the memories that she will have when she's older that means the most, instead of her thinking, 'You and daddy were always working'!!!

Anyway am going to change how I do this challenge, as have been including usual spends like DD's clubs, bus fares, etc so am starting up another budget for those type of things and then just have money for incidentals so think this week will try £20. Will go over to next week's thread and put it there.;)

Good luck everyone and happy Sunday:)

Hello all, very pleased to declare myself green for this week! I spent another £1.20 today on a ride each for the kids so that's me done. £30.24/£31

I found the challenge really helpful as it made me think about every penny that left my purse and what I was spending it on.

Back to work and school tomorrow so will put myself down for £10.

    Thanks everyone :)
