If you want a flower meadow, then buy one and have one.
People have the right to be buried as they wish and for their loved ones to remember them as they wish. To go ahead and do this to graves without confirmed communication with the NOK is appauling."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
OK mrsA! have told Gar he has to take me up tom - as I told him - Bedwellty today - Pengam next week - and if that happens there HE will be furious! he thinks it church graveyard - it isnt! and his family and mine are all buried there.
I understand how you feel hun - it has to be stopped - if the council want American style graveyards then ............let the twits emigrate! This is Wales and we do things OUR way - and if that is putting teddy bears on childrens graves - then its wrong that the council should stop people! even worse to desecrate a grave.
Did they do that to the Childrens graves up by the wall?0 -

they will be doing this to every grave yard in the CCBC area over then next few months.
expendeture is thought to run over a million for the coucil to excersice this WE OWN YOUR PLOT TOP SOIL enforcement.
as there has been no legal notifacation to the NOK this is seen as an illegal act by the council and the police are investigating.0 -

how does the council think it owns the top soil on each plot? I remember something about this when I was searching either boundary disputes or rights of way! I think it was rights of way where a person may own the land but there is a statutory right of way on it - but even then the person with the right of way had NO legal right to interfere with the land other than to keep it accessible - can they be using that?
If so that is rather spurious - the graveyards are accessible between graves. If you purchase a plot of land - then surely that plot is yours - most old graves have side and bottom markers too! and many have large slabs of stone on top - have the council removed those?0 -
I see from the pics it is in the 'newer' part. but putting peoples mementoes in plastic boxes - that is heartless. awful, hun just awful!0

Looking at those photos, that looks as though the council have gone round digging people up. It looks almost identical to a churchyard near me that was, along with the church, deconsecrated and turned into flats. I would be horrified and probably heartbroken had that happened to a grave of a loved one.
A very horrible way of going about things.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

A good argument until you consider that the Op came looking for advice on an Internet forum...thereby disproving both your theories.
As I said, their regulations state 28 days notice so if the council haven't done that then there's obviously grounds to complain.“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. You'll mess it up, it's potential, leave it. Anyway, it's like your bank balance - you always have a lot less than you think.”
