MES Footwork -- unable to ship shoes
Comments
-
I have been trying to use a Groupon voucher to order a pair. I can not seem to get the code recognised. I know it is a slim chance of getting any shoes but as I paid I would like to try. What code is it and where?
Groupon code in redem code? That seems the obvious but I put it in press redeem and it goes blank. Balance still says £55.
Do you need to input card details even though it is below voucher value?
Any advice gratefully received.
Can't you read?
MES Footwork aren't shipping shoes. So ... don't order any.
If you have a GroupOn voucher, contact GroupOn and ask for a refund.

Just had a reply from Groupon... they have been in touch with Mes Footwear who claim they haven't even had an order from me!!! and seeing as the offer is now finished groupon have offered me vouchers. I've replied saying that I want my money back if I am not to recieve my trainers, I have told them I have all the e-mails that I have sent to Matt Scott and even have an order number from despatch, I also asked how they managed to get in touch with them...I am eagerly waiting their reply.

That's unbelievable. It seems MES Footwork are in real difficulty. So much so they start denying orders.
I'm in no mood for such nonsense. I've got my refund from GroupOn, I'm now waiting for a refund from MES Footworks. If it doesn't come before the 30 days are up, I'm taking it further.
I'm also keen to know how GroupOn contact MES Footwork - if they do at all.

Pithie1976,
Beaujangles posts are at best suspicious ... only two posts, both in this thread and with experience dissimilar to the rest of us.
My guess is Matt Scott or a minion was at the keyboard at the time.

I have sent a recorded letter cancelling my order and giving MES Footwork a maximum of 30 days to refund my money. I have already had a refund from GroupOn.the office of fair trading need to investigate these people
Have you done anything about this?
I have contacted Consumer Direct and have a case number. They told me to call back if I don't get the refund in 30 days.

This really does reflect badly on GroupOn, too.
Their internal procedures when problems occur and complaints happen are really not very robust. This episode has left me wondering if I will ever use GroupOn again.
GroupOn have MES Footwork to blame for this.

I just spoke to my bank - Halifax - about MES Footwork and the complaint I have for non-delivery.
My enquiry was passed though to their disputes team who told me that they will refund my money and seek to claim their money from MES Footwork.
Things that seemed important in the phone call:
o the length of time that had passed;
o that I had tried by phone and email to contact the company; and
o that I had sent a letter cancelling the order.
I used a visa debit card to pay for the shoes.
I'm not sure whether this is something I have a right to, or whether this is a bank actually providing a service to their customer (a rare occurance in my experience, but that's a whole other story).
My frustration has passed - I no longer want to drive to the MES Factory to sort this out - I'm left with disappointment.
Disappointment that a good idea went bad and the company didn't have what it takes to turn it round.

Not a bad idea but it's really down to the company making the offer to say they can honour it. There was a cake baker who pretty much bankrupted herself by underestimating the effectiveness of a Groupon promotion last year; that's her stupidity/naivet!, not Groupon's fault.pithie1976 wrote: »doing the same as me and writing the money off
Not at all. As I say upthread, I got a full refund from Groupon and the balance via my credit card company.
Incidentally, I had two orders - one of which was full price. MES failed to meet BOTH, so it's not just a case of ignoring the Groupon orders.
They got a load of (positive) publicity from Stephen Merchant around the same time as the Groupon offer, so I suspect they've just been overwhelmed.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
I am very glad i'm not the only one then having problems! I ordered mine first week november and still to this day have no shoes that i ordered. I actually managed to speak to someone on the 15th Feb, but that has been the one and only time of doing so. He assured me they were going to get dispatched on the 16th Feb and would give me a tracking number.....has he hell, i have emailed after then and also gave my mbile number for them to contact me and no reply. Its outrageous that they can still be promoting themselves, and that they havent been closed down and no law suit has gone against them. If i werent living in norfolk i would be taking my backside upto their HQ and collecting my shoes (if they exist).....0

I also paid for six pairs of trainers in November using groupon voucher and paying the difference on my debit card. One of my children has received his two pairs but the other two have received nothing. I have emailed and phoned again and again and had no response. I have to say after this experience I would never use groupon again:mad:0

I guess I'm being less black and white -- I think GroupOn have some responsibilty to ensure their business partner's can handle the GroupOn effect. I'm not saying its their fault.
It also makes sense to them as a business:
- repeat contracts are tricky if all your customers have gone out of business
- in this case, MES Footwork's failure has caused me to question whether I'll trust another GroupOn deal again. That's bad for GroupOn.
