MES Footwork -- unable to ship shoes

Emailed Groupon about this today and have to say they've not only been very fast to respond, but also very helpful.
They're going to take this up with MES so they have 10 days to sort it. What actually comes of this remains to be seen, but one can only keep one's fingers crossed.0 -
I'm in the same boat - same delay, same type of purchase via groupon. Mine were planned for Christmas too. Good news that groupon are giving refunds. I emailed them today0

Sorry to hear you're in the same boat as me.
did you use a GroupOn voucher when you placed your order with MES Footwork?
Regards,
Sue
Hi Sue,
Yes I did and I've been in touch with groupon who said they would get in touch with MES FOOTWEAR on my behalf (that was 2 weeks ago) but I've not heard anything since!

I haven't found GroupOn to be very helpful. Their staff are always friendly, but have limited information and authority.
Before Christmas I asked GroupOn, at their suggestion, to issue a non-delivery report to MES Footwork who, I was told would respond within 72 hours. Of course MES Footwork didn't respond at all and GroupOn don't have the procedures in place to chase up their business partners on non-response.
I have got a refund from GroupOn. I'm now waiting for a refund from MES Footwork. I have sent a letter by recorded delivery. The distance selling regulations say they have up to 30 days to refund.
I won't hold my breath.
MES Footwork have lost business from me on this. My plan was to buy a pair for each of my 4 daughters. That's not going to happen now.

Hi Sue,

When GroupOn said that to me, I asked how they would get in touch as MES Footwork were not answering 'phones nor emails and if they can get through, please can I have the secret so I can chase it up myself.
I wasn't surprised to get a side-step type answer.
I think GroupOn are as powerless as us in this situation.

The more I think about this the more I am convinced that GroupOn are partly to blame for the situation.
I suspect that the contract between GroupOn and MES Footwork left MES Footwork with very little income per pair of shoes, in fact my guess is that they are making a loss on every pair of shoes they ship that was purchased with a GroupOn voucher. The longer they leave it for delivery, the more people will cancel and the less loss they make - provided they can leave the negative publicity behind.
So, GroupOn, in my opinion, should ensure that their business partners do make some money on each shipment before signing on the deal and should ensure that their business partners can actually produce the goods.
This all reflects badly on both companies.

I have been trying to use a Groupon voucher to order a pair. I can not seem to get the code recognised. I know it is a slim chance of getting any shoes but as I paid I would like to try. What code is it and where?
Groupon code in redem code? That seems the obvious but I put it in press redeem and it goes blank. Balance still says £55.
Do you need to input card details even though it is below voucher value?
Any advice gratefully received.0 -
My advice would be to stay well clear of this company i ordered trainiers in december still waiting no reply to emails even sent a recorded letter to ask about my order still no reply and they never answer the phone if you have ordered you may hav e to look at doing the same as me and writing the money off
the office of fair trading need to investigate these people0 -
please can you tell me how you managed to contact them as i can never seem to get hold of them by recorded letter / phone or emailbeaujangles wrote: »well at last after speaking to mr matt scott who gave promises of personally taking care of my order, they arrived this morning 3months from order, but with a very nice letter of apology and explanation, and the boots are fantastic very well made and we are very pleased with them as is our son who's xmas pressie they were. Just very very bad management and no planning foresight that they would be busy at xmas, well i do hope they have learnt by their mistakes and go on to be a great British company, and I thank Matt Scott (owner) for his actions and obvious care for his company. Time to move on to the next moan , LoL0

Just had a reply from Groupon... they have been in touch with Mes Footwear who claim they haven't even had an order from me!!! and seeing as the offer is now finished groupon have offered me vouchers. I've replied saying that I want my money back if I am not to recieve my trainers, I have told them I have all the e-mails that I have sent to Matt Scott and even have an order number from despatch, I also asked how they managed to get in touch with them...I am eagerly waiting their reply.
