MES Footwork -- unable to ship shoes

I used a GroupOn voucher to order shoes from MES Footwork 3 months ago.

They still haven't arrived. Their phone isn't answered, nor are emails. GroupOn customer support are next to useless.

There appears to be more people complaining about this on various sites and complaining about poor quality workmanship.

My advice - stay clear.

Best,

  • I bought a pair direct from MES, 3 months ago, had one email saying they had problems, since then no mail and they wont answer the phone. what are my options to get my money back and teach these rip off merchants a lesson? can i bankrupt them? have they broken the law? these boots were ordered as a Christmas pressie for our disabled son, I am not happy.
  • well at last after speaking to mr matt scott who gave promises of personally taking care of my order, they arrived this morning 3months from order, but with a very nice letter of apology and explanation, and the boots are fantastic very well made and we are very pleased with them as is our son who's xmas pressie they were. Just very very bad management and no planning foresight that they would be busy at xmas, well i do hope they have learnt by their mistakes and go on to be a great British company, and I thank Matt Scott (owner) for his actions and obvious care for his company. Time to move on to the next moan , LoL

Post number 2 of 2 by this member -- which is very suspicious.

beaujangles, please can you tell me how you managed to speak with Matt Scott?

I have been calling the landline posted on the website almost daily since January, at different times of the day and the phone has never been answered. Contrast this to November and December when I was able to speak to someone, though sadly it was only to be told lies about the status of my order.

Furthermore ... they do not answer my emails.

If they had the common decency to contact me and let me know what is happening and when my shoes may arrive I may be less cheesed off by MES Footwork.

MES Footwork have my money and have had since the beginning of November. I, in mid-February, do not have my shoes, nor, it seems to me, any prospect of ever getting them.

MES Footwork and Matt Scott, if you are reading this please feel free to contact me via PM if you'd like to sort out my order as you apparently have for beaujangles.

BTW ... there are a number of Facebook groups related to MES Footwork - one is called "I hate MES Footwork" the other MES Footwork Reviews both have people complaining about the poor customer service from MES Footwork.

If you Google MES Footwork reviews you will find many reviews out there with a similar story to mine, plus, people complaining that once they have their shoes they are poorly made.

One of them claims that MES Footwork removed their Facebook page when the troubles started.

I think it is sad - a nice idea, poorly executed.

@MartinSLewis please contact me re MES Footwork taken £70,000 from people and not delivered a single pair of trainers!

  • After many e-mails and telephone conversations with Matt I finally managed to order a pair of trainers from Mes footwear at the begining of November, when I hadn't recieved them a week befor Christmas I rang them again and was assured I would have them, that is the last time I had contact with them as like everyone else I cannot get them on the phone and they wont answer e-mails. I did recieve an e-mail in Dec saying they had problems but the trainers would be here by the end of January, I'm still waiting, all I want to know is if and when I will get these trainers. bad customer service, bad people, why should they get away with it, I'm so annoyed.

    Hey sooozieq,

Sorry to hear you're in the same boat as me.

did you use a GroupOn voucher when you placed your order with MES Footwork?

    Regards,

    Sue
  • In exactly the same boat. Bought the Groupon voucher...ordered 2 pairs.

I have had several email exchanges with Matt Scott, but have had no answer to my last 3....and no-one answers the phone. :(
  • I, too, bought the Groupon voucher and placed my order back in 2011.

Having failed to contact them through their website, by email or by phone I contacted Groupon (who issued a refund on my voucher) and Natwest (who issued a refund of the extra I'd charged to my credit card).

The first online complaints weren't until December; everything was glowingly positive up until then. I suspect MES underestimated the response from the Groupon promotion and were overwhelmed with orders.

A real shame - it looked like a great business idea. Hopefully, someone else will fill the gap.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.
