Unless your peas cost in excess of £10, I think that it is a reasonable offer of compensate, the snail did not kill anyone nor was likely to.

  • I think its a reasonable offer. I received £10 after being sold out of date meat from ASDA in comparison.

  • A snail in your peas? That's nothing. Once we were out for dinner with friends, the man in the othercouple had some sort of chicken thing witha salad garnishfor hs starter, he ate about half of the salad. The restaurantwas really busy, and we pushed our plates to the centre of the table whilst wechatted and waitedfor the dishes to be cleared for the maincourse. After two or three minutes, I noticed movement out of thecorner of my eye. There was a snail, its shell a bit bigger than a 10p, having a wee walk round the rim of my friend's plate!!! We were horrified and amused in equal measures, at the time my female friend and I worked in the restaurant trade, and couldn't quite figure how such a huge snail had missed observation!

I don't see a problem with a snail in with the peas unless you're veggie

I suspected that there are some on here, who would've regarded it as free extra protein!

Maybe even in a little bit of garlic butter and a glass of chilled Chablis?

Compensation Something, such as money, given or received as payment or reparation, as for a service or loss.

I'm not entirely sure what it is you think you've lost - apart from a bag of peas, which as they've already offered you £10 is, i'm sure, more than covered already.

I cant say how much is reasonable but would be interested to hear what people think only because it might help me too.

I found the rear end and the back legs of a rodent in a can of well known chopped tomoatoes. Health and Safety were fabulous and sent a representative out to collect and their lab has analysed. The Manufacturer asked if they could collect it and assurred me that they would use the same laboratory as Health and Safety - thankfully Health and Safety said that was not the case.

Anyway had my letter back from Health and safety and they have - surprise surprise - confirmed it was not fit for human consumption.

Tomato manufacturer has been in contact and asked what I want - to be honest I have no idea! What I do know is I never want another can of chopped tomoatoes or anything else that has tomatoes in it.

I wonder which unlucky devil has got the front end and front legs of the rodent! I'll be keeping my eyes peeled next time I open a tin!

Not sure how much you should claim for. Work out how many hours this has occupied, then times that by your hourly wage and then just double it for the sake of it. Ask for that amount and see what they say!

Whatever you claim for you need to have a monetary reason for and "emotional distress" is a difficult thing to put a price on!
