Just a wee update for anyone in the central belt of Scotland. ELC at Livingston Designer Centre has closed down permanently. We used that as a bribe yesterday for DGS1 and it totally misfired. Workmen refitting shop said ELC gone for good! Had to take DGSs to ToysrUs instead and we had used it as a bribe before we got to what we thought was ELC! Had vouchers too which made it a bit sore!

Awww how lovely gb, like you I have tried posting mentioning everyone/thing once and it vanished. So I won't do it again. Well done on the 5000th post Moggins :)

I wonder if it's just that ELC or all of them, was so thankful someone warned people Adams was going under on this site, I had a stack of vouchers and went out and spent them quick, just aswell, shop nearest to me closed 2 days later!

DSs broke up for half term today, unfortunately have found another dead fish in the tank, oh well that'll keep us busy one day going out fish shopping  Trying to stash all the 'treats' type food in the back cupboard tonight as DS1 and 2 keep sneaking things and it's starting to annoy me! It has a lock and need to find the key for it, I hate having to do this but I hate them being sneaky and not asking for things, especially with DS2s weight issue. Finding things hidden all the time they have taken when I am out of the room  Also going to make less cakes, biscuits etc at a time from now on and they'll just have to make them last or do without!
One day I might be more organised...........

    Crazychik,

I'd forgotten that you were a relatively new addition to Old Style :D

There was a very funny and quite long discussion on the Daily Thread last August about Hardup Hester's little telephone job :D - and THIS is probably a good place to start reading it :D (just keep reading through the couple of pages following on from it!)

Edited to add: and the juiciest details are in this post and this post if you don't have time to flick through the whole lot ;)

Hi, Im laughing before I read it, as I can imagine what it is!

Just reading rest of the daily before wandering thru your links.

    Ooohhhh I cant wait!

It's getting "saucy" on here today!!

I finally got some time on the computer, DD1 and 2 are off school, midterm and DD1 has been busy with bebo and MSN and mum didn't get a lookin. Also we went out as a family and went to this new bookstore (Borders) which has just come to our town. Wow.. it is huge, we spent hours in there, kids found a comfy chair and read, so hubby and I got some peace to look at books. I just love cookery books and craft books, but managed to control myself and only bought Martin's book but I will go back on my own some time and just read them in the shop, lots of chairs where people just sit and read, so I can judge if there are worth getting or note down the title so I can search for them on Amazon or ebay..

Have a nice weekend, DD already asking to go on again, I think it's time to save up for a laptop..:D
  • Evening all. Hope everyone is well.

I finally got offered the promotion at work (interview was a couple of weeks ago) this morning :) Phoned my parents to let them know and discovered that my sister paniked this morning and went off to the hospital and should couldn't remember if she'd felt the baby kick last night as she was too busy counting contractions. Unfortunately a close friend of her's lost her baby a couple of weeks before the due date last year, so she's really scared of the same thing happening to her. However all is well and she's back home again.

Right, just time for a quick fly around the house before I have to go pick the BF up from the ferry terminal.

    Have a good evening everyone

Cleaned out fish tank two weeks ago and looking better. Put new fish in today and plants - DGS2 and I chose them before I came home. I told shop when I would collect and they did it the minute I got there. They seem happy tonight so hope for no dead bodies tomorrow hopefully. We have a community tropical tank and very therapeutic when boys a wee bit fractious. Bought Cookie treats tonight and he is a very happy hampster! Had him out for a cuddle and I am sure we are now bonding!

    Love and hugs

These are only goldfish, but son gets very upset when they die. He's fish/sealife mad. Saying that he also likes going to the shop to pick new ones, so that will hopefully distract him. Will do water change first, there is only a little pleccy thing left in there now.

Well, what I can say hester you go girl. I was only saying to the girls the other day at work, I'd like to have a go. They was shocked! BUt like you say, its a job!

That has put a smile on my face now reading the links, so thankyou for that, especially after the crap afternoon myself & OH has just encountered! He received a letter from DWP (part of CSA) his ex has started a claim against him for payments, he's not seen his son for 6yrs now, and back then she refused payments. He was advised from CSA not to worry, no action will be taken against him, until she starts a claim.

Anyway, apparently, we was told from the CSA, that cause she's on benefits, they automatically claim against him on her behalf. Its there way of not paying her what she's entitled to from the government, and for OH to pay for her to stay at home. Dont take this comment out of text please, as his son has learning diffulcites, dispraxia, ADHD, Autism, etc. So thats the reason why she's a SAHM.

She banned him from seeing him all those yrs ago, another long story, he always said she's a physco b!tch, but I never really believed it untill I saw her for the first time this evening. We went round to try and discuss these issues, he politely said, "we need to talk", she literally flung herself at him, punched him, screamed, swearing all sorts of language at him. Blah Blah Blah. We ended up walking away. At least my OH got to see his DS from his bedroom window, he blew him a kiss & got one back in return. He cried!

My heart goes out to him now, and doesnt know which way to turn!
Next thing is, is to seek legal advise.

So apart from that. Im ok. OH just feeding the animals, and will chill out now before the kids come home at 8.30pm

    Be back later
    Love Emma

    Hi Everyone,
Not posted for a while as life has been a bit of a rollercoaster recently. Have managed to read a few post recently, so would like to wish Gingham Ribbon belated best wishes on her new arrival.
It seems like everyone in my family is either ill, living below the bread line or generally having a hard time of it all:rolleyes: . Sorry to sound like a moaner, but I feel better getting it off my chest, rather than arguing about it with OH.
On an old style note, if you live near to an Asda store, they seem to reduce stuff to stupid prices about 7pm at night. Got loads of fresh curries for 34p each, a big bag of potatoes for 6p, 2 fresh trout for 29p etc. Have also been trying to ebay some more stuff, to earn some pennies and declutter house. I did go to the charity shop and got 2 books for 45p. One was a novel by Bernard Cornwell - The last Kingdom (Vikings etc) and the other, was a Mirium Stoppard book about how to approach children of differnet ages on subjects like death, sex etc. Thought it would come in useful when DS (aged 3) starts asking questions.:D Have a good start to the weekend, and hugs to those who need them.
