I hadn't even thought about this and haven't got much time left!!

I am on the mini pill, have been for about 3 years and I cannot predict when my 'monthly' friend will arrive. It can happen any time between 4 - 10 weeks apart. The only time I know is a few hours before it happens. I used to be on the 'normal' pill and really liked it but I had a migraine and they won't let me have it any more.

I get married in less than 10 weeks so don't know if I have time to prevent any unwanted visitors as I can't predict when it will happen. My friend visited last week but hadn't been since the beginning of December.

Think I will have to ask my GP. But she is useless and never seems to know anything so try to avoid going to see her.

    Oh how frustrating!

    I'd never thought about it!
When I was younger, I was due to go on holiday and was really self confident and having my period would have ruined my holiday as I wasn't comfortable with swimming with it so I went to my doctor and they prescribed me some pills which postponed my period for a few days. I can't remember what they were called but I'm sure a trip to the doctors will help!
Sorry if anyone's already said something similar, I only skim read :o

    Good luck x

Another coil fan here, I always go to the local family planning clinic though, they are absolutely amazing there (and very experienced :rotfl:). The first 2 days after the 1st one was quite nasty but after that never had a problem and had my 2nd one in last year and that was absolutely fine.

    Seriously, I couldn't cope with a period now! :o

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

I've been wondering about this as well! I have PCOS so I'm not regular at all (well, by "normal" standards anyway) so not sure the tablet 3-4 days before would be any good :( OP hope it works for you though!

I have PCOS and take the pill, so will just run 2 packs together. Can you do this?
  • I have the contraceptive implant and haven't had a period for over 3 years now anyway, we are getting it removed after the wedding to try for a baby, but until then I'm fine :)

I have the contraceptive implant and i'd definately recommend it for keeping away unwanted visitors¬

My GP said that because i'd previouisly been on a progesterone only pill and I had regular periods whilst on it then after i'd had the implant they'd probably continue to be regular, but i've not had a period since getting it fitted! bonus!
