I was wondering the same thing, and TBH I think the chances of her turning up on the wedding day for me a quite slim, as she tends to not appear when I'm stressed!

There is a pill ou can take to delay it - I took it for holidays one year, but I wouldn't recommend it as it causes bloating and my moods went a bit crazy one it, and i was sick, but think that was just due to the long flights etc, but i can't be sure, so don't want to risk it on wedding day.

As for the pill, again i'm worried about the side effects on weight gain/loss and mood.

I'm considering just risking her turning up = but not really sure, I have a dress that it would be difficult to change in.

This is not something that I have even considered as pregnant at the moment. Maybe I need to pop to my GP and get the pill just in case as am planning to breastfeed and this can mix things up. Thanks for posting this thread as not something that I would ever have thought of and could have made an impact on the day xx

Ooh what a good thread. I hadn't really thought this through properly. I usually just run two packets of the pill together so I don't have a break. I had been advised that this is in no way unhealthy and you can do it as much as you need to really so I usually do this for holidays, Christmas etc. However, we are planning on trying for a baby asap after the wedding so I was going to come off the pill a month or two in advance because you are supposed to wait until you have a proper period before you start trying. This may scupper my plans...

I went on holiday in December and was due on the day we got there so had GP prescribe me Norethisterone to delay my period. Was told that it might make me feel sick and bloated, but it didn't do either! I didn't feel any side effects whatsoever. You're supposed to start taking it 3-4 days before you're due on so not sure if it would work for you.

But that's what your maid of honor is for isn't it? Help you to the toilet, get your dress sorted, so shouldn't she change your pad for you......:rotfl:

With DD2 I came off the pill and was pregnant the same month so it shouldn't scupper them too much :)

I think my 12 year old daughter (age when we got married) would have rather stuck pins in her eyes ;)

Have you tried the pill? Sometimes i carry on taking mine as to skip a period (unhealthy i know) so i presume it can help make sure you dont come on on your big day

It's not unhealthy. Doctors leave the week gap to make sure AF can arrive as no AF is a good indicator of something being wrong or pregnant.

I don't like the pill but I started it last week to try to avoid AF on the day or the honeymoon. As that leaves just a week, I will put two packs together if I timed it wrong.
