A personal question of the female nature...

Yeah, it's fine to run the pill together. I have suspected endometriosis and the advice is to run packs together...I have about 3 breaks a year, that's it. When I was researching it I found that there is no medical reason to have the breaks, but when they developed the pill they put the break in as they thought women would find it too weird not having a period at all and wouldn't want to take the pill.0

I have actually been to my GP about this. (It helps that I work there too!!)
You can be prescribed Northisterone which you take about 3 days before your period is due, you carry on taking it for as long as you want to NOT have your period. The day you stop taking it, you will MORE THAN LIKELY start. (I did and it was awful - never felt so ill!)
You CANNOT have the pill or contraceptive injections/patches as they are not licensed for this kind of use, only for stopping you getting pregnant! If the doctor prescribes these, then they can get into trouble for it.
Northisterone is the best thing to stop you, but I had awful side effects from it, not everyone will get these, but be warned. I've got to take it again as I should be on my period when we are on our honeymoon - not looking forward to afterwards!!Married the absolute love of my life on Sunday May 6th and I couldnt be happier!!!0 -
I had the coil fitted (suffered with bad periods AND I fall pregnant at the drop of the hat) and that has stopped them all together.
No weird side effects, no pain etc. I don't mind one bit never having a period!

This thread reminded me of the time on SATC when Carrie (or was it Miranda?) got her tampon stuck and Samantha had to help her get it out!!! She was moaning about her freshly done manicure!!! LOL and eww at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:
I'm already on the progesterone-only pill, so no periods for me - ever! I bl00dy love it.
:D:D This is one wedding worry that I won't have! Thank God!
OP - I would defo suggest starting the pill a couple of months beforehand and taking it till after the wedding/HM. :AHave you tried the pill? Sometimes i carry on taking mine as to skip a period (unhealthy i know) so i presume it can help make sure you dont come on on your big day

bit unethical but could you lie and tell them you've quit? Might work better if you go to a womens clinic x0

no to the coil.
i had one a few years ago, my so called expert of a doctor who was trained to put them in did so, that night a frantic call by my then husband because i was in absolute agony, another doctor had to take it out, why, because the doctor put it in wrong...0 -
There's always a hysterecomy....but that might be a little OTT to the problem at hand :rotfl:What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..0

That is a shame because I have no issues whats so ever. In fact I recommend it to everyone!
