I had spotted that Moneyfacts had announced this change and thought that it was old news. As Buffman previously announced it had recently been increased to 3.19% AER and I had not spotted the difference between AER and Gross.

Be careful with large deposits as they are both part of the Yorkshire BS group and subject to a single FSCS compensation guarantee.

Egg and Norwich & Peterborough BS are also under the same cover.

    AA Internet Extra (Issue 7)

    Unlimited penalty-free access

Balances under £20,000 2.60% (inc. 1.90% fixed bonus for 12 months)

Balances of £20,000 or more 3.07% (inc 2.57% fixed bonus for 12 months)

"After 12 months the variable rate without bonus will apply, currently 0.50%". But the variable rate seems to be 0.70% for balances under £20,000!
